Thanks mate. I love coming out of work and getting in a big, comfy barge these days, if towing and fuel consumption hadn't been an issue I think I'd have gone XJ6. I still love pugs, but more as fun cars than dailys, search is now on for a French hot hatch to have fun in at weekends and on tracks. Maybe even Saxo VTR, or a 205 GTI if the budget will stretch.

That's a relief mate, thanks for that, the mileage is worrying me.

I despise IDI so much for its inefficiency and outdatedness...
But 6 pot N/A merc does sound beaut when warmed up. The 6 pot derv clatter from cold would annoy the tits off me every morning.

Does sound great, as for the clatter, you can't hear it inside
So, me and Danny went to pick it up today, went in Danny's transporter so chucked it on the back to save diesel...
Drove it back from Danny's, got a few issues to sort:
- Vibration around 60-70mph, possibly balancing
- Drivers door lock seized
- Fuel gauge dead
- Wipers don't work on intermittent and won't park, maybe dodgy connections
Pretty good for a quarter of a million miles I reckon

To be fair, I've hardly had any trouble with Peugeots, and when I have it's always been easy and cheap to fix...

Very, done 80 miles and averaged 61mpg, long time since I've seen more than 30mpg! Nice to drive too, handles well for what it is.

It had one thing wrong with it, that I didn't fix because I was going to break it. I sold it as a breaker, not a roadworthy car. Jonny decided he wanted to drive it 400 miles, not me.

Teasing, dude. Not implying anything, at least not anything besides you're a northern pikey who ignores vehicular problems.
Edit: I realise it was sold as a dog for a dog, genuinely didn't mean anything besides my usual trolling. And maybe to remind you that it might actually be worth replacing the driveshaft on the 406 lol.

Weirdly, the noise stopped when the exhaust fell off, I think it might have been a heat shield tapping the exhaust under cornering...
