Switch colour LED Mod part 4

Heater control panel

this is the heater panal LED mod.
you can change the back light colour of the switch and also have a seperat colour for the switch indication,

this panal the user wanted red backlight with red switch indication

strip out circuit board

unsolder Leds and resolder new colours

easyer said than done this

be carefull when inserting the led in the centre of the switch as the switch contacts are in there too so you don't want the led shorting out the switch

My passenger window wasn't working, after some checks my mechanic decided I have to change the driver's side switch. Found one in scrap, replaced it and now found myself with a toy. Started opening it as I have seen on other forums some guys changed the switch bulbs to LED's but not on Pugs.
God bless you for this post, lovely pictured and explained.
All I need now is a soldering iron, are gas ones good ?

For this job even a cheap maplin soldering iron will do.
But gas ones can be a royal PITA.
Best avoided unless you feel you'll ever need to solder without electric near by.
Bearing in mind a soldering iron will happily work off a dirty cheap inverter, so um, never Smile

BTW, epic write ups !!

Avoid gas soldering irons. I got one thinking it would be great but its a pain in the ass and the heat isnt concentrated enough and it will set fire to things if you put it down. Get a decent electric one for £25.
