hi guys, pretty sure i have binding brakes, car pulls strongly to the left and theres a hum at highish speed. when i put the handbrake on tight and take it off the back left still holds to i lift the clutch and go to move then it makes a click as it finally releases. where do i start sorting it?

What car is it? Drum beam? Sounds like the shoes may have come off the back plate, whip the drums off and check them out.

sorry meant to says it hdi, has disc brake axle

In that case, sounds like the handbrake mechanism on the caliper may be seized. Wheels off, and make sure everything is moving freely. Also worth whipping the caliper off and making sure the sliders are all free and re-greasing them while you're there.
