With the impending doom of my 306 fast approaching (knackered piston rings/HG/everything), I needed to find something to use in the meantime whilst I fix it.
Found this last night and bought it on an impulse, collected it this morning.
Dan! was right, they are wonderful to drive ..
C+C welcome, as always.

Good lad.
Is it a 1.6 or 1.8?
Wish the HDi had heaters as good as a Eunos!

Cheers for the feedback guys
It's a mk1 1.6, rolled out the factory in 1990 making it one of the very early ones. I went for the 1.6 because it's only £104 more to insure per year than the 306
The suspension will be due for an overhaul soon so may certainly look at some decent coilovers and dropping it down a tad more.
Alloys are a bit gay, I tend to loathe anything made by Ripspeed/Halfrauds. They are brand new though so will probably shred through those useless Nankangs within a few weeks

I bought this back in August...
Mk2 1.8 UK-spec MX-5.
This used to have ripspeed wheels on it too, and it didn't have a hardtop.
I still have my old XLdt as a winter car though.

Me-tm - get yourself some of the red reflectors (as found on the back of MK1's) to replace all of your reflectors. Seen it done before and it looks sweet as fook on a red car.

Aaaah, good idea. Never thought of that. I guess reflectors from a mk1 are the same shape / size then?

Yes mate they are all the same shape, however they are slightly deeper / shallower all round, so they may not fit exactly flush with the bodywork without some washers, but if I can do it anyone can lol.
I had reds at the back and clear ones up front. They lit up with the sidelights too

Only problem is, they won't drift because there's not enough power to break traction

I had this for 6 months 2 years ago, I've had plenty of cars over the years, sunbeam lotus', astra 16v's, Subaru Turbos' ect, but this was and always will be the most fun I ever had in a car!! and the sound was awesome, just needed a bit more umph.
