The spring on the peddle pushes the clutch down, I'd say replace the cable first then get the box off after if necessary.

yeh. Definitely investigating the cable first. Isnt there any auto adjuster or something? If somebody could tell me where that lives under the engine bay that would be great.

just change the cable, the auto adjusters are wank and not servicable or manually adjustable. however, if you really fancy getting covered in shit under your car, it clipped to rear of the front subframe, underneath the steering rack

i found it easier to take take out the drivers seat to change the cable. much easier to get to. was a pita to get it onto the car though.

will get stuck in at some point this week. I think somebody in my project thread said that i need to take the battery box, ecu and the mount for them out to get best access to where the cable goes etc?

I remember helping with a mates HDI estate and the air con pipes where right in front of where the cable goes into the car, was a right PITA.

I think my mate ended up cutting them out the way as the air-con didn't work anyway.
