I am after my second 306, the first one I had was a 1.6 XS which drove beautifully (better than a lot of other cars I've driven).
I want a car which is has the right spec for my taste. therefore I was wondering if anyone has any websites where I can check which model 306 (XS, GLX, Meridian, LX, etc) had what sort of spec.
I've gave this fourm a quick search and not found anything, so if there is already a thread on here explaining this then apologies
P.S the new facelift on this website looks pretty tidy

Tbh mate old cars don't have massively different spec levels. Remember no 306 will have functioning a/c.
The only real difference in that meridians, dts etc had the leaf half leather whereas nasty Ls and LXs had horrid grey fabric.
Parkers.co.uk is always your best bet if u need 2 go into specifics for your "taste"

Mines one of the first phase 3 hdi's on a T plate & a/c still works perfect !

For ph3, they all get electric windows and mirrors, gti bodykit and either ac or sunroof.
5 door meridian for comfort, comfort suspension, swallow alloys, half leather seats, leather wheel, rear electric windows post x reg.
3dr xs or dturbo for sport driving - gti suspension, spoiler, cyclone alloys, but only cloth seats and a rubber wheel.
L or LX if you're tight, comfort suspension and cheap seats in either a ridiculous colour cloth or grey velour lol.
However, remember that most have been changed over the years, and some very late ones got extra spec or the first owner specced them up. There are a few invetween specs aswell, like glx.

What is your taste?
If you say what you're looking for in a car people will know what models will suit, or what bits from other models to raid to fit yours.
This post is an artistic work of fiction and falsehood. Only a fool would take anything posted above as fact.

Would struggle to get a sunroof, SE's are all cabriolets...
Seriously though, SE only came on Cabriolets. Estates also came in Meridian SE, which I guess is what you meant, but it's just a Meridian with a fake walnut dash lol.

Well a Rallye is basically just an L spec with a big engine and a few stickers...
Tbf, as its only his second I just assumed he wouldn't be after a 2.0 petrol. And if he's after spec I assumed he definitely wouldn't want a Rallye

Ah I read it as having a second 306 rather than 2nd car.
I'm biased of course. The 6 was part of my teenage car porn

You read right lol, I would love a 6 to be honest. But with the insurance quotes I'm getting highly doubt it, insurance prices are a joke! I'm turning 21 in January and the way everyone makes out there is a big price drop in insurance quotes after you turn 21, I really don't see much difference.

Mine dropped at 19...age isn't really a big factor (unless you're looking for classic insurance ). Your area and job will make a bigger impact. I thought you were 18 for some reason though lol, so my bad, I could've added '6 spec onto the list.
Ph3 GTi6 is basically the best of everything though, sports suspension, best looking (though chuck GTi brakes on a HDi DTurbo it looks the same lol), half leather and alcantara interior, 3spoke leather wheel, etc. Rallye is basically that but with everything good removed except the engine and suspension.

Lol cheers for rubbing that in Tom. To be honest it has dropped a lot since I first passed but with me nothing is ever cheap enough hahah I always try looking for cheaper quotes until I can't look any further. I suppose this is what student life does to you hahah

Everyone wants stuff cheaper regardless of how much money they have lol.
Its not just the insurance though, you also have to realistically budget for the MPG of a bigger engine, probably less than 30mpg average on a '6. This is why I've stuck to diesels for the last 3 years tbf.

Haha, Yeah I was looking at the hdi's, and I've heard really good things from various different places. And looking at this forum a lot of members seem to have them.
