I've been meaning to start a project thread for ages now but just havnt found the time. But seeing as she now owes me another 500 quid I thought i might as well document what's going on!
My target is 180bhp, i'm not planning to be a record breaker like some others on the forum so my target should be achievable with the mods so far + bigger bine when i can afford it. Once I get all this stuff on I'll get her on the rollers to see what the old girl is making! Hopefully around the 140-150 mark based on others with similar set-up.
Set-up so far:
11mm bosh pump
T2 @ 24 psi (will be upped to 30 with the fmic)
Slight LDA mods
Straight through SS twin exit exhaust
Lowered 40mm on coileys at the front 60mm at the back
Some history....lol How she looked when i got her, march '08
And more recent although the HID's are gone.
Parts to go on:
2x Bottom arms with bushes
2x ARB Drop link
2x Track rod end
2x CV Boot gaiter
2x Gti6 Front Hubs with new bearings
Gti6 283mm front brakes
Gti6 Rear beam (thanks Ohara)
New Radator
Slimline fan
FMIC
Still to get
Xantia/406 manifold (send me a pm if you have one reasonable price)
Bigger turbo, not sure which way to go with this yet and cash is now VERY tight.
I'm going to try and make a start this week probably tomorow afternoon so i will update with pics as often as i can
Any comments, thoughts or opinions welcome

Mini Update:
Got my new fuel pin in the post from Dan! a couple of days ago, got it in this afternoon and what a difference! The 11mm is smoking a hell of a lot less. So scope for more turns on the max fuel i guess!
Pics of stock and Custom
I got a cheap 2.5l of Hammerite, hammered black. So I painted up the beam that Ohara sold me and fitted new mounts. I know it will never be seen but I'm pretty impressed with the results and it will protect the metal.
Before:
After:
Started painting the hubs as well:

Another Mini Update: Rear Axle is on!!!!
On the old axle which came off both of the rear mounts had completely split in half, that would explain now why the back tried to overtake the front in the twisties!
Now handles spot on, very slight play in the N/S front wheel bearing but can wait till after crimbo now.
No progress pics I'm afraid as it was pissing down with rain all bloody day!

Nice progress mate, can a make a suggestion if I'm not too late though, clean the paint off the hubs where the discs sit, if you don't the disc could end up out of line and you will regret it most when you try to change the brakes again and the disc is stuck to the hub
Otherwise its looks good fella, keep it up

That turbo setup looks like a very interesting engineering project for you, will have to keep us updated. Is the manifold pictured there something that can be made to fit? Otherwise i wouldn't have thought it was worth it...

Ive looked into it properly now, realistically there is too much involved and now Saab is going prices are ridiculous. I dont think many of the "ttid" Saabs were actually sold so second hand twin turbos are not likely!
Cheers for the positive comments guys, I love the twin exhausts I was following my car in the missuses fezzy the other day and the smoke is epic!!!!
@Mark. Very good point, (walks away head hung in shame), lol

I like it... but the fact you have a sub in the middle of the parcel shelf is slightly annoying me.
Can I ask why?

lol at the parcel shelf comments. It was because it wouldn't fit in the boot with pushchair and shopping and I wasn't getting rid of it, I might be a dad but I'm not an "old man"! The sub makes a completely different sound not being in a box, nice and deep but doesn't shake the mirrors off!
Exhausts came off a guy on .net ages ago, Powerflow SS. Makes a great sound, can hear the turbo almost from idle all the way up.

Well she passed her MOT yesterday with NO advisories. Very pleased with the old girl.
Anyway some pics of how she looks today and of a bit of front end updating.
Not sure on how I will go with this yet ^ Thinking maybe do the grill black as well but Ill try this first and see how it looks. Opinions welcome. Oh and P1 Badge in good nic needed ASAP.
Urgently need centre caps, looking poor at the moment.
Should be a bit more frequent progress on this now (hopefully). May have just sourced some forced induction (dont want to give anything away yet until it is in my hands for a photo)
