Got a replacement column, hopefully I will only have to replace the top part, other than the ignition barrel is there anything else to watch out for? Any other tips for things to do while Its apart?

Thank you Niall, I did a search on the gti 6 forum and came to the same conclusion. How hard is the column to replace? Im fairly competent..... done wishbones, wheel bearings etc.... so would like to ...

Done this a few weeks ago, pedal is a lot smoother and doesn't stick half way anymore. .... still stiff though :-/

Fixed! Was the bottom caliper bolt, was a couple of mm out. Crazy how that could make such an awful clunking sound. Thanks for the help guys.
