I know the car and all its problems/bodges I'd take a look at the brakes for starters RE: Birks dturbo project. - Birk - 16-12-2012 Which ones? What are all the problems? Lol RE: Birks dturbo project. - Danny2009 - 16-12-2012 Something wrong with the engine. The rear pads are held in with speaker wire plus other problems lol RE: Birks dturbo project. - Birk - 16-12-2012 Oh dear indeed lol I actually noticed the rear speaker wires aswell, but thought they could have been sensor wires, then realised they don't have any lol He said the aux pully etc are a bit fooked on it, cos it sounds like it, but I knew that. What else? What's up with engine itself? I suppose I better fix it aye. RE: Birks dturbo project. - Mattcheese31 - 17-12-2012 wow Birk with a Dturdo project . . .how times change!! . . . . ![]() nice one . . ![]() RE: Birks dturbo project. - Chris_90 - 17-12-2012 When he was texting me about it the problems were, Heater only works on number 4 Aux pully/belt Theres no thermostat in it (this is what put me off big time) Someing to do with ignation Think there was some other stuff carnt rember tbh RE: Birks dturbo project. - Birk - 17-12-2012 So to some it up, I've bought a nail haha I'm not bothered about all the other stuff just as long as the engine is ok really, but I'm sure Danny will come along and tell me its not ok after the water incident. RE: Birks dturbo project. - Danny2009 - 17-12-2012 I was going to buy it to strip. It runs fine after the water incident I think, he took the thermostat out because the headgasket was going that's why he was getting rid. The key sometimes gets stuck in the ignition and can be there hours trying to get it out RE: Birks dturbo project. - 1616six - 17-12-2012 Thought it was odd he's bought the same car in a worse colour the day after he sells his... makes sense now! ![]() RE: Birks dturbo project. - Chris_90 - 17-12-2012 (17-12-2012, 10:21 AM)Danny2009 Wrote: I was going to buy it to strip. So glad i didnt go for the swap with my car..... as soon as i hurd the thermostat was out i thought there was head gasket issues Sure birk will make a good car of it tho, just will need loads of work to get it there. RE: Birks dturbo project. - Danny2009 - 17-12-2012 It's probably worth £500 depending how much it takes to put it right RE: Birks dturbo project. - Ben - 17-12-2012 Only 100 pound or so for another engine if worst comes to worst! RE: Birks dturbo project. - Ruan - 17-12-2012 Wasn't that the one with, you know... The milk float? RE: Birks dturbo project. - Birk - 17-12-2012 I guess I will have to see how the engine goes, I suppose it it does go bang, I'll just stick a new one in. I put my coilovers on today, aswell as some gti6 brakes, new drop links, black masks, fog light blanks and also my wheels ![]() Should be lowering back end on wednesday.
