how the f'ing f do the p bush big bolts go in? - HDIkyle - 30-11-2012

Done them afew times before, 15 min job stright tho and nut on. I have broke a rachet strap trying the get the bracket down to be able to get the nut on now.
How do you do it?

I usually put the little one in first as it helps pull it down, then I use a lever bar to push the arb down to get the bolt through

Sure the ARB bushes are in the groove? If so, big g-clamp...

Pretty sure ye, The little one and p bush goes down fine its the clamp over the ARB bust that wont go down. The gap in the bush goes to the front correct?

I would estimate that your clamp is not fully engaged in its subframe slot, and you're trying to bend it instead of move it to position.

I usually do the long bolt first as there is play in everything then.

Hmm, I think the gap was to the rear on mine, but not sure, been off for a long time!

changing your arb for a thicker one? if so get the right size bush's Wink

No standard one going back on

Take drop links off? No tension then?

RE: how the f'ing f do the p bush big bolts go in? - Chris_90 - 02-12-2012

I did it by putting small bolt in then getting sissor jack under the ball joint wind it up and it drops the p bush down at the back so you dont have to try and push it down

Get both sides jacked up makes the job so much easier

RE: how the f'ing f do the p bush big bolts go in? - Piggy - 02-12-2012

yah much better to jack up both sides so arms are near level...less strain on your nice new bushes too

RE: how the f'ing f do the p bush big bolts go in? - HDIkyle - 02-12-2012

There is no strain on them atm the wishbones will move up and down fine, Its the bushes on the ARB but there not new there as it came off

RE: how the f'ing f do the p bush big bolts go in? - kernow_joe - 02-12-2012

but the bushes on the anti roll bar will be under strain with one wheel on the ground

RE: how the f'ing f do the p bush big bolts go in? - HDIkyle - 02-12-2012

There are no wheels on the car or suspension

I fitted the coilover to one side to make sure it fit as it was from a 206 then removed it so its stood on stands atm with nothing in the arches

Well in that case, it's just you being a fairy.
