RE: Project Babyliss - Curt - 23-04-2013

It's Rust-Oleum textured stuff. Will let it dry overnight then go over with matte black Smile

RE: Project Babyliss - Curt - 24-04-2013

So I set about destroying the car today:

Ran the wires to the doors, which was fun...

Comps are in:

Just got to run the power and ground for the amp tomorrow, and mount it.

Also got my passenger window working.

This may be why:

Mmm nice carbon-y switch.

Success!

Although it was a bit slow, so too it apart to re-grease the runners:

Finished the sub enclosure:

RE: Project Babyliss - Curt - 25-04-2013

Audio is done.

Made up a sub-stopper:

Also fitted my headrest speakers. Found it already had uprated JVC ones, but I hate JVC so carried on and fitted the Pioneers. Should hopefully get a few quid for the old ones though.

Sounds a-mazing. Just need to make up the MDF cover for the amp tomorrow and carpet it.

RE: Project Babyliss - Niall - 25-04-2013

Do you never go to work???

I like the sub. Still need to build a fitted box for mine as mine just slides about all the time. How much did the focal sub set you back?

RE: Project Babyliss - Curt - 25-04-2013

Occasionally. Sub was £80 I think

RE: Project Babyliss - Tom - 26-04-2013

Like i keep saying that sub box is f*cking amaze balls! Top work mate looks awesome!

RE: Project Babyliss - Curt - 26-04-2013

Cheers Tom Smile I'm pleased with it.

RE: Project Babyliss - Fozzy - 29-04-2013

ooooooo SHINEY SHINEY, not bad finish on that boot. I see you have replaced your 8Ball what happened

How is your amp going to stay cool?

RE: Project Babyliss - Curt - 29-04-2013

Yeah it's not to bad for a rattle can job in a dirty shed Smile. Yeah, I just thought I'd see what I prefer, I like this one again lol

There's loads of space around it, so think it'll be okay. May order a fan and cut a hole in the MDF though Smile

RE: Project Babyliss - Curt - 30-04-2013

Cut some holes to allow some more bass through:

Also changed my soft top as it came with a 3 week old one, looks a lot better Smile

Cleared out the drain holes, think they may have been blocked...

RE: Project Babyliss - Curt - 01-05-2013

RE: Project Babyliss - samass - 01-05-2013

I can see daylight under your sills.... You're doing it wrong!

on another note, strips make it look really good!

RE: Project Babyliss - Curt - 01-05-2013

Haha, nah, it's impractical enough lol

Yeah I think so, I love them! Think it's a nice touch

RE: Project Babyliss - Curt - 16-05-2013

So this failed it's MOT... on a lot.

Nothing too bad and he said it looks solid underneath. The exhaust has apparently ripped a hanger away causing it to blow (had no idea, didn't seem to get louder to me) and to be not correctly supported. It's not a massive issue, they said they'll weld it up. The bigger issue is it's still going to be be too loud...

So I'm going to stick the standard one back on.

Then there's brakes, apparently there's "severe brake shudder" on the O/S/R, which you can't feel whilst driving. So I've ordered Mintex discs and 1144's all around, was planning an overhaul anyway so this was a good excuse. Hopefully they'll be here by the weekend... Found them pretty cheap too. Will also refresh the fluid while I'm there and probably do the service.

There was a load of other little things, which for the most part I know about. I was just convinced it would fail so didn't care.

Anyway, boring I know, but should be an easy 12 more months on the road Smile

RE: Project Babyliss - Matt - 16-05-2013

Looking good man! The stripes really make a difference!

And bout time they were fitted hahah

RE: Project Babyliss - Curt - 16-05-2013

Cheers man Smile. Yeah I was surprised at how big a difference they made!

Haha, I know, I know...

Here's a better one of them, nowhere interesting though as it's off the road obviously:

RE: Project Babyliss - Curt - 16-05-2013

RE: Project Babyliss - Niall - 16-05-2013
