3-door tilt levers - replaceable? - C.A.R. - 09-09-2012 My car has some GTi6 leathers in but the lever handle on the drivers side seat has broken a bit. You can still operate the tilt/slide mechanism but I wondered if the handle itself could be replaced with one from a scrappers? More to the point, how would you even go about replacing it? Important as in 6 weeks time that will be babies side of the car too... I'll get a picture up later. RE: 3-door tilt levers - replaceable? - C.A.R. - 15-09-2012 Can anyone shed any light on this? I forgot to get a photo but will do later on if it helps. Basically the lift handle to tilt the seat handle has broken a bit, I'm wondering if it can be replaced or whether I would be better off sourcing another drivers seat altogether. RE: 3-door tilt levers - replaceable? - C2K - 15-09-2012 I would imagine it is removable anyway, given that the handle is larger than the aperture it can only be fed externally. I would unhook the seat backing and roll the seat up, see what you're faced with. If it's broken internally it will be obvious, and I would imagine you can exchange a working part. I'll be back in Peterborough soon if you get stuck with anything major. Edit: Servicebox agrees with me: ![]() RE: 3-door tilt levers - replaceable? - Chris - 15-09-2012 11 quid new iirc. But there a bitch to remove once there on there though. RE: 3-door tilt levers - replaceable? - C.A.R. - 15-09-2012 Got some pictures now. It's literally just the little plastic bit on the end which is broken - can this be purchased separately? (or does someone have one kicking around?!) ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() RE: 3-door tilt levers - replaceable? - C.A.R. - 15-09-2012 Yup, £11.26. Probably worth just going to Pug and ordering one. Part number is 8905 48 (just so I don't have to go back into Service box to look it up again...) RE: 3-door tilt levers - replaceable? - Chris - 15-09-2012 Need to order two myself just can't face parting with £22 for them. |
