Take the rad cap/header tank cap off*

peer in, see what the level is like

top it up so it's sat at the max line Smile

*When engine is suitably cold!

Don't worry dude, these TUs like to run nice and warm.

My 1.6 runs are 95-97 as standard and has done for 2/3 years

I assume it's a tu. how do I tell?

RE: Temperature - Niall - 19-08-2012

What size is it? If its a 1.6, it's a TU. if its a 1.8 or 2.0, it's a XU. also, if its 16 valve in a 306, it's definately a XU. All 306 diesels were XU but only 8v.
The only 16v TU They did was the 106 gti which was a 1.6

They generally do wander up and down the temp scale in hot weather - they don't hold much oil or water so the temperatures change fairly quickly in traffic or under load.

Yeah shouldn't worry bud mine runs at 90 all the time then you boot it and goes over it just the engines lol
