New MOT - unclebeast - 20-05-2018 what does this mean for the xud9a and especially xud9te re visible smoke? RE: New MOT - Toms306 - 20-05-2018 Not much...you're still allowed up to 3.0 for TD and 2.5 NA on the smoke test. The new regs affect modern cars with DPFs really. Yesterday I was allowed 1.5 on my Focus, now it's only 0.55! RE: New MOT - Midnightclub - 21-05-2018 I saw Kyle's fail sheet yesterday, didn't look great tbh haha RE: New MOT - Poodle - 23-05-2018 See here: https://www.gov.uk/government/news/mot-changes-20-may-2018 The changes are only applicable to cars with a dpf, something that came in a good 6 years after the 306 ceased production. RE: New MOT - Piggy - 23-05-2018 Essentially the same rules... bar the dpf smoke thing (load of rubbish as brand new dervs with dpfs can/do smoke) and reverse lights. Just scaremongers imho. RE: New MOT - Magenta Sunset - 23-05-2018 I was sure my y2k had a dpf ![]() RE: New MOT - Toms306 - 23-05-2018 (23-05-2018, 11:55 AM)Magenta Sunset Wrote: I was sure my y2k had a dpf Nope, it just has a cat. People weren't bothered by particulates back then, CO was the enemy! DPFs started to be fitted as standard in around 2004 for road cars. But weren't mandatory until Euro 5 emmisions in 2009. |
