Lights always on. - luke306rallye - 21-12-2017 Had this issue for some years now but I've just put up with it as I've not been able to figure it out. Sidelights, rear lights and dash lights are always on with the ignition on as if the stalk is turned onto the first position but it's definitely in the off position. If you turn the stalk onto sidelights it makes all of the lights slightly brighter. I've tried another indicator stalk and checked all of the dash fuses but can't find any fault. Just wondering if anyone would have any ideas? RE: Lights always on. - Mighty306 - 22-12-2017 Sticking relay? RE: Lights always on. - Eeyore - 22-12-2017 yeh check the relay. Maybe the stalk is also a bit sticky? RE: Lights always on. - cully - 22-12-2017 no relay for the side light circuit un plug the column switch and try a replacement ![]() RE: Lights always on. - luke306rallye - 22-12-2017 (22-12-2017, 01:26 PM)cully Wrote: no relay for the side light circuit So you think it can only be the stalk? Thanks for the help so far. RE: Lights always on. - cully - 22-12-2017 stalk is the only feed to the side lights and dash lights unless you have a wiring fault RE: Lights always on. - C2K - 22-12-2017 Any damage to the clocks on the back? RE: Lights always on. - luke306rallye - 23-12-2017 If I unplug the stalk completely it still lights up with the ignition on. So a wiring fault somewhere it seems? RE: Lights always on. - cully - 23-12-2017 un plug the panel light dimmer switch by your right knee check no one has teed ito the cables for gauge lights and are back feeding a supply no one has wired day running lights? It used to have a Toad alarm which I cut out as it was always playing up when I'd turn the ignition off and lock the car. Pic of the wiring behind the panel, the black mess is due to the dash being flocked some years ago. Does anyone know what the green connection is for? https://www.flickr.com/gp/149954682@N06/81x6Ls RE: Lights always on. - DeeTurbo - 26-12-2017 Has anyone done anything around the car stereo wiring? As Cully say's it sounds like something is back feeding the system. Not that I know of, I've not had a stereo in it at all for a few years as it's stripped out and loud from everything else. I'll give it a clean up to make sure. |
