Painting fuel rail - gti6man - 12-10-2017 I have new injectors to fit on my 6 but was thinking of painting the fuel rail at the same time. Any top tips? I assume remove pressure regulator and injectors. Block any holes, key then spray? RE: Painting fuel rail - Eeyore - 12-10-2017 Yeh I dont think its anything special. if you can get any fuel resistant paint I guess thats a bonus. They normally look pretty terrible so id make sure you get any rust off properly and possibly some rust treatment. RE: Painting fuel rail - gti6man - 12-10-2017 Thank you got some kurust and will give it a good sand down. When fitting the new injectors will it be okay to use Vaseline to lube the injectors? Would make sense to me but seems not everyone agrees online... I have silicone grease i could use instead...? RE: Painting fuel rail - Mighty306 - 12-10-2017 The place I got my injectors reconditioned said just to use a little clean engine oil. I guess the o-rings are nitrile rubber n oil won't affect them. |
