Aux belt problems - L16rye - 29-11-2016

I have a 306 his and had air con pump removed and pulley so fitted a 6pk 1165 I think it was and they keep burning out and snapping help sick need car for work ..

What crank pulley are you running?
Sounds as if the belt your using is too short, using a 1185 on mine with no issues.

I have just put one on tonight there and been driven and is red hot and smoking dingo if it's off olds belt where it melted on pulls but dose not have aircon pump or ideler pulley

Either too short, or something has seized up.

Id go for something seized, tensioner or guide

As above, check all your pulleys by hand. I would use the idler pulley with a 1185 as it gives a bit more wrap around the alternator.

Cheers lad put a 1185 on and seems spot on for now ?
