Relocating battery - check list - ginge191 - 05-10-2016

Yeh Just double checking all of this before I crack on with this

1) using a leisure battery box to use in the boot, secure down.

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/232078691209

2) using 170A power cable from starter motor to battery.
3) keep OEM wiring from starter to loom.
4) use inline fuse - anyone suggest one?

4) earth battery in the boot
5) earth engine to chassis

Anything I'm missing or need to consider?

some way of bolting the cables together in the engine bay

maybe a M8 rubber bobbin
cable terminations
crimper for said terminations
battery terminals
nuts and bolts to fix with
some sort of sleeving to protect the cable through holes or around moving items
a way of venting the battery outside

Perfect; cheers!

What do you mean by bolting cables together ? I was planning to wire straight to starter.

you may have more than one Positive in the engine bay you need to connect too Wink

the HDI's have 3 positive cables connected at the + battery terminal for instance

There's two; but they're already connected at the original terminal for battery.

8 was going to connect this to the starter as well as the new connection.

Bump to the above post.

And using 35mm 240AMP copper cable should suffice, right? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Red-or-Black-240AMP-35MM-auto-Hi-flexible-battery-cable-451-0-30-kit-car-boat-/322162264024?var=&hash=item4b025e07d8:m:mlSJ-tYzs6yvFaKWlgm9AKg
