Brake Bleed Nipple Specs - Toms306 - 21-01-2016 Hi guys, Anyone know the specs for 306 bleed nipples? Looking for rear calipers but fronts may be useful to others. I didn't realise there were so many with the same size nut. http://www.biggred.co.uk/bleedscrews.php?pid=Bleed Screws RE: Brake Bleed Nipple Specs - Stef205 - 21-01-2016 i think its m7 on the rears RE: Brake Bleed Nipple Specs - Toms306 - 21-01-2016 Any idea on length? Need that as well as girth, only part I know is the nut is 8mm as I have a proper double ended nipple spanner with 8mm and 10mm ends lol. RE: Brake Bleed Nipple Specs - tigerstyle - 21-01-2016 service box? http://306oc.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?tid=7402 RE: Brake Bleed Nipple Specs - Toms306 - 22-01-2016 Servicebox doesn't list the lengths unfortunately. But they are £6.59 each to buy from the dealer lol! RE: Brake Bleed Nipple Specs - pug306driver - 22-01-2016 Yes, really expensive from a dealer. 1.25 ish from big red. Enquired about seal kit, not stocked and special order from pug dealer at 28 per side plus vat, they did not know what the kit contained. Got seals ( 33 deliverd to do both sides ) and nipples from big red, the nipples for the front ( bosch caliper ) being too short, so used the longer ones for the front for now. will post part numbers next visit. Must get some slightly shorter ones for the front, then correct ones for the rear calipers, bendix. The front nipple just sheared off, which is what I suspected would happen, but got the remains out using mig blob and bolt method, after stripping down the caliper. The other front one came out intact after heating caliper, once stripped. They are now back on the car and bleed. The rears are next weeks bag of sweets. RE: Brake Bleed Nipple Specs - welshpug - 22-01-2016 seal kit contains seals and a bit of grease. RE: Brake Bleed Nipple Specs - Toms306 - 22-01-2016 Servicebox pictures the seal kit, so not sure why they don't know what's in it? I would have thought you'd know the exact specs, Mei? RE: Brake Bleed Nipple Specs - welshpug - 22-01-2016 m7x1.0 is all I know, I haven't bought any for a long tine but you just need to buy whatever is listed for a bendix or bosch rear caliper fronts are 7x1.0 or 10x1.0 depending upon which caliper (8 or 11mm spanner) RE: Brake Bleed Nipple Specs - Eeyore - 22-01-2016 i cant even find the bits i bought for the front ones! TOo many things! D: RE: Brake Bleed Nipple Specs - zx_volcane - 22-01-2016 m7 for sure on the rear, stupid size thread! can get ones too long, won't matter as will bottom out and seal regardless RE: Brake Bleed Nipple Specs - Toms306 - 22-01-2016 (22-01-2016, 11:21 AM)Eeyore Wrote: i cant even find the bits i bought for the front ones! I don't currently but I'm sure it could help others. Also, after all that it looks like we have at least one decent one on the calipers Sam found, I have soaked them in WD40 and will have a go at removing them next time I'm over. |
