Handbrake weak effort - rd070707 - 17-07-2015

Hi guys car failed mot on passenger handbrake being weak. When jacked up you could literally turn it with your hands.

Its an Hdi with rear discs so I adjusted the tension on both cables which improved it a bit but still a massive imbalance.

When the rear is jacked up and no brakes applied the drivers wheel spins freely but the passager one only spins 1 turn then stops.

Am I looking at a handbrake cable issue or something to do with caliper?

Probably both, how was the service brake effort?

service brake was fine although I dont have the figure to hand he said it was fine.

Was thinking maybe a slight bind on that side or stretched cable?

cables seized / caliper handbrake cable leaver siezed / needs adjusting properly / disc pads low
