Bosch pump manual stop lever? - daveylennon93 - 19-04-2015

Well just after boschin my dturbo and realised the o ring on the throttle shaft needs replacing.

My question is this, is the manual stop lever actualy needed or does it serve another purpose?
Because if all it does is stop the engine then ill cut the bit on the inside of the pump to make refitting the top half easier. Thanks.

You can take it off but better to learn the knack, you have to angle the top of the pump towards yourself and slip that side on first, it's quite easy once you get it, I know it seems really awkward at first but it's not when you know how Smile

Also wind the max fuel out and hold the stop lever as you do it Smile

I think I read somewhere that the manual stop lever also acts like a buffer on start up ie to help stop that little puff of smoke you get when you start the car.
Most people just get rid of it to be honest, myself included.
