Offside driveshaft - Davidwheaty - 01-02-2015 Offside driveshaft has gone, its it an easy/cheap job or is it a garage job? RE: Offside driveshaft - Toms306 - 01-02-2015 Easy enough, intermediate bearing will be seized and need a big hammer though. RE: Offside driveshaft - Davidwheaty - 01-02-2015 Yeah any guides to removal on here? Search is useless on this app ![]() RE: Offside driveshaft - Toms306 - 01-02-2015 Jack up Remove wheel Remove lower hub pinch bolt and nut (16&17mm) Pop hub off balljoint Remove hub nut (35mm, very tight) Pull hub towards you and shaft pops out For drivers side need to remove intermediate bearing (2 L shaped bolts with 11mm nuts need undoing) and hammer bearing out Make sure you either drain the gearbox or catch the fluid that comes out and then replace it afterwards. RE: Offside driveshaft - Toms306 - 01-02-2015 I think 1.4/1.6 shafts are smaller, but bigger engines are all interchangeable. Also if you have ABS, you will need ABS shafts. RE: Offside driveshaft - Davidwheaty - 01-02-2015 Don't think it has abs, haven't slammed on enough to notice though And his is a 5door xud ![]() RE: Offside driveshaft - Toms306 - 01-02-2015 The driveshafts aren't distinguished by doors... ![]() Check for an ABS pump in front of the little fusebox. If not then yeah they'll fit fine. ![]() RE: Offside driveshaft - Davidwheaty - 01-02-2015 Will do, cheers lads |
