So are Hdi rods stronger - pugtk - 02-10-2014

I am about to freshin up my xud engine

New Parts:
Top end gasket kit/including steel h/g
Stretch Bolts
Crank seals
Valeo Clutch
Timing belt
Rec. Injectors

I have came across an dw block for free, is it worth fitting hdi rods?

I don't think I will strap a big blower onto this xud,

I will be staying on the t2 with gov mod,lda pin mod, around 25psi

Its going into my 205, so its a light shell

If you have the block stick them in. Hdi rods are better. I think they have a beefier top half. But not fail safe. Id put them in though. Will do on mine at some point.

For free? Definately. They are bigger around the wrist. You could also balance them whilst changing them over.

well I have a full dw10 engine for free...

but I don't fancy changing rods for something that "might be" safer

They will be safer.

Everything has a limit though.

Nothing is 100% safe
