t2 turbo - liam doidge - 08-12-2011 what boost have people run on them? should i go from gt15 to a t2? , i want too but the lag is putting me right off :/ when does the t2 turbo come on full boost ? cheers Re: t2 turbo - Dan! - 08-12-2011 Should be on full boost just after 2k. Theyre really not that laggy at all, just more laggy than a GT15. Imo go for the swap, my friend has just done the exact same. As for boost, upto around 23/24 seems reliable, they will boost upto ~32 though, although dont expect them to last more than about 6 months if you run them that high and drive them hard. Re: t2 turbo - liam doidge - 08-12-2011 2kyou sure? there somthing wrong with my gt15 then as it at full boost 1,900 minium that with an exhaust with hardly any restriction at all, you have convienced me Re: t2 turbo - Midnightclub - 08-12-2011 I think the amount of time it takes to hit full boost will depends entirely on what PSI your looking for, a T2 would not hit 20 psi by 2k Re: t2 turbo - liam doidge - 08-12-2011 im running 21psi how long would it take the t2 to hit that? i will have a exhaust with little retrsiction any idea what it would hit that at? Re: t2 turbo - londondan86 - 08-12-2011 Mine hits peek boost (24 psi) at ~ 2.5krpm and holds it all the way up to 5.5k! Cracking stock turbo. Re: t2 turbo - Dan! - 08-12-2011 Didnt have a rev counter in my 205, but by using the gear ratios and mph I worked out my K14 could hit 17psi at something like 19xx rpm. Smaller displacement though, and no IC whatsoever, so may have dropped lag a little. Re: t2 turbo - liam doidge - 08-12-2011 about 600 revs more :/ hmm im sure if i put it on that 600 will seem like nothing once its on boost. i need to man up i think Re: t2 turbo - Anton - 08-12-2011 Mate a T2 is not laggy lol, get it on and man up. Re: t2 turbo - liam doidge - 08-12-2011 i suppose it laggy standard as your not getting the most out the turbo but running 20psi plus it comes into its own think i will fit it. Re: t2 turbo - padge - 09-12-2011 Try running a bigger blower, T25 dosent even start boosting untill like 2.5k and peaks around 3k Re: t2 turbo - 4WayDiablo - 09-12-2011 My t2 is similar to londondans but just after as mine is about 32 psi Re: t2 turbo - liam doidge - 09-12-2011 uk u have put me right of a t25 that is way to laggy :/ think after my t2 i will just have to get a hybrid turbo or any gt model. Re: t2 turbo - Connor - 09-12-2011 liam doidge Wrote:uk u have put me right of a t25 that is way to laggy :/ think after my t2 i will just have to get a hybrid turbo or any gt model. Marks T25 isnt that laggy, seemed fine to me Re: t2 turbo - padge - 09-12-2011 Yeah its weird it dosent feel too laggy its nowhere near as bad as you think.. Re: t2 turbo - Pompey306mark - 09-12-2011 T25 are not laggy, yes more than a t2 but only just. Re: t2 turbo - ginge191 - 09-12-2011 go for a GT15, t2's are for teh no00bz! Re: t2 turbo - Pompey306mark - 09-12-2011 Coming from the guy who is picking the wrong turbo for his car lol. Me and connor, tried to change your mind yet still you are going after the wrong turbo. If you dont want to fit a different turbo from another car the T2 is th best standard turbo. I took JP out in my car and he said mine felt better than the tdo4 car he went in. Re: t2 turbo - ginge191 - 09-12-2011 Pompey306mark Wrote:Coming from the guy who is picking the wrong turbo for his car lol. but my car is going for as much low end as possible, i dont want the "POWWAHAHHHH BHPPP!" Re: t2 turbo - Pompey306mark - 09-12-2011 You still want a t2. As you will only moan when the ting gt15 blows up. Re: t2 turbo - liam doidge - 09-12-2011 i want low end but i dont want to be picking up the remains of my gt15. Re: t2 turbo - Pompey306mark - 09-12-2011 T2 it is then, simples. Re: t2 turbo - Connor - 09-12-2011 *facepalm*@ginge Re: t2 turbo - Midnightclub - 09-12-2011 If you want more driveability then a GT15/KO3 would be better, if you want more high up power then a T2/K14 would be better.. Re: t2 turbo - Pompey306mark - 09-12-2011 T2 does not give higher power. My t2 gave great driveabilitly. T25 and above gives high up power. The T2 if a great turbo. Listen to the people who have done it. I had KK14 and T2. T2 was better, gave great driveability but I was pushing it at 25+ psi. This is why I moved up to T25 as they can flow more air and should last longer. My T25 comes on strong at 3,000 but starts to build before that. If you can keep the power in the corners then the T25 does not need to come out of its power band. I drive my car very day and have not issues with the T25 on my car. Re: t2 turbo - Connor - 09-12-2011 Its great for a standard engine with just a stage 1, but after that, you need to be looking at uprating the turbo imo Re: t2 turbo - Matty - 09-12-2011 I've had a k03, that was well....boring, and imo pretty shit for ultimate power. It's like what the other guys have said really..depends what your looking for. The t2, is like the best of both worlds imo...pretty quick spool up, and not too bad up top end...but obviously know where near what a big mofo turbo could do! ;D Re: t2 turbo - Pompey306mark - 09-12-2011 My T2 had enough power to keep up with fooby in his 6 last year. But I was deffiniately pushing it beyond its limit. Go T2 and when you get bored go T25. Re: t2 turbo - padge - 09-12-2011 I agree with mark on everything he's said. Re: t2 turbo - liam doidge - 09-12-2011 i want no lag but power like a t25, i am in dream land and i know it but i still want it lol. |
