HDi lower intercooler pipe - HDi--Power - 22-05-2014

My 406 one lasted a matter of weeks and the 2.2 HDi one although better has now somehow split in two and is leaking something terrible.

So I set about making a nice stainless one but discovered a simple 90 bend is the perfect shape to tuck nicely in the gap between engine and gearbox. I welded on a reducer to the end to fit my silicone but this is not needed, so if you could get old of some old 90 stainless bends you could have yourself a cheap much improved lower pipe and lose that 38mm restriction on the OEM pipes

Its actually a better fit than the 2.2 one which is bent about 80 degrees or so, could be worth a rummage in the local metal recyclers Smile

So you going to start making these for others then?! Hehe

f*ck the 90 degree bend off and see if you can get a 45 degree in there

You could easily do that or even get it so a straight joiner fits but this is a more simple design for those looking for an alternative Smile cheap to make/have made for you

How long did you make the straight pipes matr

That 90* pipe looks nice but IMO the 2.2 one looks like it would flow better.
