was looking at a transit alternator, they come in sizes up to 110amp, with a vac pump stuck on the back also..
has anyone done this if so
A. did you keep teh vac pump on the tranny alternator, or use the original and remove it
B. what alternator did you use if not hte transit one?

Most hdis have a 150 amp alternator so why look towards a transit?

The transit ones need an oil feed too.

Transit one is a common bolt on for the petrol Vitara with the 1.6 engine. But I didn't know which was good for the xud9

I think that the 406 ones are a bit meatier....

Hdi one is as said before 150amp. An xud9 one is 90amp so there is an upgrade. Best to look how it mounts first as there is several different types for hdi
