More Bosch pump questions - Martin306 - 16-12-2013

Is there a way of knowing what size the plunger is from a part number? My googling skills have failed me Sad I think I have an 8mm plunger.

Say VE R 0 460 484 099/100 or 0 460 484 148

:-)

Also, if you've removed your LDA screw (Sam mentioned something about that ), tell me and let me know what powahz you're getting and spec.

Thanks in advance.

correct 8mm plunger

RE: More Bosch pump questions - Ruan - 16-12-2013

0 460 4*8*4

That 8 is the plunger size in mm.

LDA is the positive manifold pressure enrichment system... Ie. More boost, so can burn more fuel... There's no LDA screw to remove and won't improve power.

Thanks, so the 6th digit is the plunger size then! Smile

I think he said some people take the top hat off and pull the pin out? I don't have a top hat on my pump, cos it's a NAD pump. but was just curious! Big Grin

Thanks Tongue but that's not what I was asking.

I was asking if there is anyone using a VE with a disabled LDA on a Dt to step forward and tell me your spec Idea

i have heard of people doing it but it'd be very smoky low down, would require some deft left foot control, can't think why you'd really want to though tbh . .Smile

I would do that, but I have an ECU controlled NAD Bosch pump. I'd like to keep that Smile The knock without it is horrendous.

Im sure when I changed from 9mm to 11mm it gave me slightly more torque lower down, could be in my mind though, but then it could be something to do with injection duration/timing.
