Engine Code Help? - Lwilliams - 08-12-2013 Basically I want to rebuild a XUD engine to a reliable 180/190 bhp I know some of the basics I need TD04, 11m bosch, FMIC etc.. I have been trolling the net looking for information on engine codes I found something on Wiki but not sure on how true it is: XUD9 65 PS (64 hp/47 kW) Diesel XUD9 A 71 PS (70 hp/52 kW) Diesel XUD9 TE/L 92 PS (90 hp/67 kW) Diesel turbo with intercooler XUD9 SD 63 PS (62 hp/46 kW) Diesel turbo catalyst XUD9 SD 75 PS (74 hp/55 kW) Diesel turbo catalyst XUD9 TE/Y 90 PS (88 hp/66 kW) Diesel turbo with intercooler catalyst XUD9/Z I am trying to find a good starting point whats the difference in these engines etc... whats the best? I have read a few places that HDI rods are better but hopefully looking at forged if some one gets a group buy going Thanks in advance guys RE: Engine Code Help - Dave - 08-12-2013 The hdi rods are stronger than all the XUD ones, get them swapped out as a starting point. There's plenty of info on this on other threads but make sure you get your pump/boost setup properly aswell, I found this had quite an effect on the reliability of the block. RE: Engine Code Help - Nick306td - 08-12-2013 Yeah I agree with dave RE: Engine Code Help - Lwilliams - 08-12-2013 (08-12-2013, 04:09 PM)Dave Wrote: The hdi rods are stronger than all the XUD ones, get them swapped out as a starting point.
