Help with a how to - David - 26-02-2012 can anyone help me out with how to smooth my bonnet (debadge it)? Re: Help with a how to - Connor - 26-02-2012 Need to weld a plate in place, then filler to smooth it off and paint. You will also need to smooth the grill Re: Help with a how to - David - 26-02-2012 iv got the smoothe grille on order. is the other part hard? Re: Help with a how to - Connor - 26-02-2012 Not hard at all if you can/know someone to weld a plate and if you know how to use filler Re: Help with a how to - Foxy-jim - 26-02-2012 Where dd you order the grill from? I ordered one offline an it doesn't fit properly. Re: Help with a how to - Midnightclub - 26-02-2012 You don't HAVE to weld a plate, there's a fair few ways of doing it, a metal plate behind would probably stop any filler etc. from sinking though Re: Help with a how to - Connor - 26-02-2012 No you really do have to weld a plate in, take your badge off and you'll see what i mean Re: Help with a how to - David - 26-02-2012 got mine off ebay for £10. what the best way to do it then because i can get someone to weld it easy. Re: Help with a how to - Connor - 26-02-2012 Unbolt the badge, get a plate welded in and then use filler to get the final shape and smooth Re: Help with a how to - David - 26-02-2012 great! thanks for the help, will be on the long list of things to do Re: Help with a how to - Foxy-jim - 26-02-2012 Definitely weld the plate. If you don't the vibrations of shutting the bonnet will crack the filler! |
