can someone shed some light of this - jays306 - 08-08-2013 hi has anyone got any ideas to why this p bush looks like its being pulled of the lower arm, this is the o/s. thanks RE: can someone shed some light of this - Piggy - 08-08-2013 cant see much there pal but is the top bolt/nut in place? RE: can someone shed some light of this - jays306 - 08-08-2013 yes mate top bolt/nut is there, but compared to the other side it dont look right.. maybe its just me being paranoid n/s bush RE: can someone shed some light of this - Grant - 08-08-2013 That definitely looks as if its being pulled off. Take the arm off and give it a good inspection. If that IRS whilst you are driving it could be horrific! RE: can someone shed some light of this - jays306 - 08-08-2013 my concerns exactly, best thing is both lower arms are brand new & came with the bush attached. thanks RE: can someone shed some light of this - Poodle - 08-08-2013 No chance the subframe is out of shape? If they're new wishbones i'd assume there's a manufacturing fault tbh. RE: can someone shed some light of this - jays306 - 08-08-2013 i can't see any damage to the sub frame, here is a better view of the lower arm. i gonna take it back to the shop where i got it from & get it replaced.. RE: can someone shed some light of this - Grant - 08-08-2013 That's definitely coming off. No two ways about it. When you put the new one on measure te distance from the wheel-arch on both sides to give a better idea of if the subframe is straight RE: can someone shed some light of this - jays306 - 08-08-2013 cheers for that. RE: can someone shed some light of this - jays306 - 08-08-2013 Well got a replacement lower arm it turns out the old one was smaller arm some kind of manifacturing fault :/ All sorted now though. Thanks for the quick replys RE: can someone shed some light of this - Grant - 08-08-2013 Thats odd. Theres a lot of lower arm issues coming out of the woodwork lately :/ Glad you got it sorted RE: can someone shed some light of this - jays306 - 08-08-2013 I suppose thats what you get for not buying dealer parts. RE: can someone shed some light of this - Grant - 08-08-2013 It shouldn't be the case though. If people are selling parts such as this they should be fit for purpose. What has happened there is a serious safety risk. I'd be inclined to escalate it. RE: can someone shed some light of this - Poodle - 09-08-2013 Glad to help. Easiest way to avoid this is to always compare old parts to new before fitting. |
