tapping into ally xantia manifold? - Jimbo - 30-06-2013

Gonna fit my xantia manifold instead of the adaptor. Just need to tap into it with some sort of pipe take off for the boost compensator
Questions are

What to use as a take off large bleed nipple, air line fitting..
And will using a tap/die be strong enough in the alloy or should I fit a helicoil into it?

Any barbed fitting is fine, and yes alloy is fine if you use front face, I drilled / tapped several outlets into mine

I tapped two bleed nipples in as a cheap option, no problems at all..

One for LDA, one for boost gauge. Useful for seeing loses from turbo to inlet but does require two gauges ideally.

I drilled and tapped the bolt on metal flange at the front as was easier to fit in the vice and meant if I wanted rid of them I could just bolt another one on

Also avoids and chance of ally filings going down the intake.
