fitted a dump valve now lossing boost - ingham66 uk - 14-06-2013 hi there everyone ive just fitted a bailys dv36 twin piston dump valve to my dturbo got it all on the car with electric vacuum pump and micro switch after a big headache lol only problem now is my car was boosting 16psi before dump valve now only seem to be getting 11psi can any one help with this thanks Alistair RE: fitted a dump valve now lossing boost - Curt - 14-06-2013 Moved as this is clearly not a guide... My advice would be to remove the dump valve from your diesel. Other than that... there must be a leak somewhere. RE: fitted a dump valve now lossing boost - WiNgNuTz - 14-06-2013 I'm with Curt tbh, dump valves on diesels just dont sound right. Best bet is to just do away with it. If you're still low on boost after that, check the usual suspects for leaks. ![]() RE: fitted a dump valve now lossing boost - ozonehostile - 14-06-2013 a dumpvalve on a diesel IS a leak Re: RE: fitted a dump valve now lossing boost - CJ_Derv - 14-06-2013 (14-06-2013, 05:04 PM)ozonehostile Wrote: a dumpvalve on a diesel IS a leak Totally agree waste of time on a derv n sound shit as out of time get a big blower instead RE: fitted a dump valve now lossing boost - londondan86 - 14-06-2013 Agree with all the above, I had one and removed it a week later as it just did't sound right. But to answer your question, check the gasket on the tmic if you removed it, check all jubilees, etc..... Re: fitted a dump valve now lossing boost - CJ_Derv - 15-06-2013 I had one had to switch it off if wanted to boost over 22psi if its bot holding 16 then its not a twin piston one for a start Or its f*cked RE: fitted a dump valve now lossing boost - Piggy - 15-06-2013 errr....you have to created the vacuum from somewhere to make the dumpvalve work....tells you something about why you dont and shouldnt have a dumpvalve on a derv |
