Clunking from nearside wheel - HDIkyle - 27-05-2013

Got a clunk from the nearside wheel when held at 9 and 3 its a noticable movement and noise when setting off and stopping also.

Had new bearing, balljoint, wishbone bushes, droplink, TRE, disc, pad and top mount bearing.

What else can it be i dont think it does it on the offside wheel

Right, changed shaft and its still there. Checked all bolts and everything's fine. Also nipped up the top mounts on the shocks but there fine. It seems to be play in the steering rack. Its had new TRE but it seems to be movement in the rack. Steering is tight as when driving it does clunk the wheel when stopping and setting off.

Can the bit that holds the track rod to the steering rack cause this kind of symptom if they are worn? Easy to replace?

This could be the problem never known anyone have to replace one on a 306
