The new car - StefanUK - 25-04-2013

Decided to move on from the saxo and 306 even tho i still have them, went for a newish car that has a good spec and was reasonably priced. Always liked the astras since back in 2004 when the came out and always had a soft spot for the vxr so it was going to be one of them but insurance was a nono so had to go for the next best thing.
In love with the car tbh, such a nice drive abit firm in sport mode but still very comfy.

That first pic is awful lol, cheesey!

RE: The new car - swampy - 25-04-2013

If some one asked to pose for a picture like that at our dealership they would get ripped big style!!!!

RE: The new car - StefanUK - 25-04-2013

The garage asked me and the mother to have a picture just like they do with all their customers, it then goes on a cool wall.

RE: The new car - 306Puggy - 25-04-2013

It's okay I guess...but then I am a fan of 90s cars more than anything post 2000. Nice spec though and looks comfortable ThumbsUp

RE: The new car - Toms306 - 25-04-2013

How much did you pay for it btw?

That picture is anything but cool!!!

If it had being a decent spec lotus then yes have a picture taken!!

When we hand over a car at work we get the customer a nice bunch of flowers . An AMG item or decent bottle of wine!!!

We would never dream of asking for a picture like that!!!
Then again we are a bit more prestige

Oh here we go. Another car on the list that tom hates and will slag off big time. In all fairness though, slagging off vectras is fun to piss certain forum members off Smile

Quite like the look of them but dont like the interior one bit!

Tbf....you just know that ANY car/engine I own will inevitably end up on that list. lol

RE: The new car - Dicky - 25-04-2013

My mates SRI 150 is 280bhp RR proven and its flawless, never had a problem with it

RE: The new car - Just Sean - 26-04-2013

swampy where do you work?

RE: The new car - C.A.R. - 26-04-2013

Vauxhalls are shit

/thread.

Seriously misleading picture too! Thought it was going to be an Elise, not an Ashtray.

Nice enough cars, uncomfortable seats and back-breaking suspension with massive amounts of road noise in the cabin and awful rear visibility. The old man had a 150 when they first came out and it was cool back then, I loved driving it. Worlds shortest, steepest powerband, all comes at once which makes it feel quick but the engine really doesn't like to be revved out, making it a bit pants on B-road blasts in my experience. Good motorway muncher, shame about the compromised ride.

Wish I had a car worth that much though!

Re: The new car - kentiiboii - 26-04-2013

Love it. Love this shape astra looks stunning imo. Best colour too.

RE: The new car - Andy - 26-04-2013

I've always had a soft spot for astras.
Not so much the newer ones but more like the old SRI and GSI Turbos (around 2001 plate) and not forgetting the 888. Loved that thing.

Ohh the things you shouldn't admit.

The new car - THE_Liam - 26-04-2013

Not a fan if I'm honest, should be fairly nippy though?

RE: The new car - 1616six - 26-04-2013

They are epic cars.

Same engine as in my vec.

Blank the EGR, get it mapped & you'll love it ten times more.

Mines running ~200bhp & it's awesome

Looks like a nice car and they really shift once mapped

They are know for blowing the gearbox for a start, my friend found that one out the hard way.
Poor design/build by all accounts.

RE: The new car - StefanUK - 27-04-2013

So far the car has been lovely to drive, regards to the road noise, dull interior etc... we have 306's going from one of them to this is like night and day
