front strut brace fitting - titch - 01-03-2013 Just a quick question about fitting the front strut brace, is it just as simple as removing the 3 bolts from the top of the strut and then bolting down the strut brace. I have got new longer bolts for it. I am just wondering if when i undo the 3 bolts on the top of the strut is anything likely to move or will it be ok. Thanks Titch RE: front strut brace fitting - Pompey306mark - 01-03-2013 As long as you don't push the car and its level it will be fine. RE: front strut brace fitting - Piggy - 01-03-2013 yeah and dont jack it up!! RE: front strut brace fitting - Eeyore - 01-03-2013 Ive fitted an upper strut brace twice. It will undoubtedly move! Leave the car on the ground and undo the top mount bolts. However if it does move even by a few mm you will have to jack the car up to take the weight off the strut to then realign it! RE: front strut brace fitting - ConorTRG - 01-03-2013 You could also screw a bit of threaded bar into one or two of the holes to keep it in place. RE: front strut brace fitting - devils_fuel - 02-03-2013 Never had an issue fitting either of mine ![]() Flat ground and do not move the car an inch and all will be well ![]() RE: front strut brace fitting - titch - 03-03-2013 Cheers Fellas, did it this morning, had the car nice and level on the drive, chocked both front wheel so nothing would move and all was good took about 10 mins.. ![]() ![]() |
