205 1.9gti 1990 - Kezzer30 - 25-02-2013 So firstly hi to you all as its been a while since i was last on here almost a year im fact , as some of you know i had a 1.4 which is now broke up and scrapped/sold. But time for bigger/smaller things , i bought a 205 in white dont have a pic to upload im afriad but i will start with how it look after it got resprayed in diablo red and i personally aprayed the trims So i put the big pro races alloys on her and this is how she looked but keep reading before u judge , i went for a different look with the white trims but i had to agree it didnt look like i had imagined it to A few new additions was a sticker and squidy from the 306 These were the gold speedlines that she came with id just sanded them down at this point Primered Centers done Coloured an laquered all done myself with compressor (not a good one tho) After deciding the 17s where too big for such a small car i put the speelines back on Then came the auto bonnet Sanded with some filling work Primered Coloured and laquered and buffed , doesnt look as good as that got alot of bits in it and my compressor was poor then but was a good effort Auto bonnet on Coming up to not so long ago now , i bought a mew compressor at this point and was keen to see what i could do with a better one so i decided to smooth the rear panel As she starts Fibre glass paste and sanded Filler Primered , just a glimpse of the new bertha in corner Coloured , laquered and buffed , now this came out quite well and was happy On the car doesnt sit flush due to lack of bend but the proper smoothed panels go for 80 on ebay so i was happy with this The finish Now we come to just 3 days ago , my biggest task yet In the garage for her 3 day make over Masked up which took me bloody ages! Then saw the respray with the white strips! Much better! Still prefer the standard looks, but each to their own! RE: 205 1.9gti 1990 - Kezzer30 - 25-02-2013 I went for something different realised id made a big mistake lad and quickly ammended them and thats fine lad people do like the 205s standard and i have respect for that RE: 205 1.9gti 1990 - Curt - 25-02-2013 Would look nice with black bumpers and trim, just doesn't look right colour coded IMO 205 1.9gti 1990 - Kezzer30 - 25-02-2013 (25-02-2013, 07:58 PM)Curt Wrote: Would look nice with black bumpers and trim, just doesn't look right colour coded IMO I agree it would look fine with nice black bumpers etc but imo it looks alot cleaner and sleeker in red but i respect everyone has different tastes and its all good lad Re: 205 1.9gti 1990 - Dan! - 25-02-2013 The final stage actually looks spot on imo. Certainly didnt look right with white bumpers. Lowering will set it off well 205 1.9gti 1990 - Kezzer30 - 25-02-2013 (25-02-2013, 08:06 PM)Dan! Wrote: The final stage actually looks spot on imo. Lowering will set it off well Cheers dan , since i put it all red its had a great reception not all like it an a few have said they would change the odd thing etc but the cars not finished yet plenty more to do and glad u like it . But i will always get people who simply prefer them standard but i like to be different and aint afraid to try something new (as you can see haha) RE: 205 1.9gti 1990 - Oil-burner - 25-02-2013 Some good progress here. Your spraying looks like its coming on well too! Any one else think it looks a little bit like a metro when its all colour coded in the last pic? Re: 205 1.9gti 1990 - Dan! - 25-02-2013 Reminds me more of an S1 106 rallye in its all red guise :-) 205 1.9gti 1990 - Kezzer30 - 25-02-2013 (25-02-2013, 08:18 PM)Oil-burner Wrote: Some good progress here. cheers lad and yeah one or two have said it has a metro look about it lol not sure if thats a bad thing or a good thing i guess RE: 205 1.9gti 1990 - Oil-burner - 25-02-2013 Depends who you ask, im sure proctor will be around any minute spunking himself dry! I think I would go back to black trim personally but fair play for going your own way with it. 205 1.9gti 1990 - Kezzer30 - 25-02-2013 Hahha proctor has already seen it haha and well thats fair enough RE: 205 1.9gti 1990 - Piggy - 25-02-2013 I was like hell no...but with colour coded it looks good... I think some anthracite wheels rather than white would be better though RE: 205 1.9gti 1990 - puglove - 25-02-2013 God am i glad you have got shot of all that white! 205 1.9gti 1990 - Kezzer30 - 25-02-2013 (25-02-2013, 09:23 PM)puglove Wrote: God am i glad you have got shot of all that white! It really didn't look right, but it's nice to see who the car has come along, and as mentioned how your spraying has come along as well. I think the rear bumper will need the matching white strip to complete the look, but it looks decent with the colour coded trim! 205 1.9gti 1990 - Jake - 25-02-2013 I knew you would see sense! I saw the white Trims on Facebook ages ago and really wasn't a fan. Looks brilliant now! You look like you pretty handy with a spray gun. All it needs now is a small drop, then it will look spot on. Good work!! 205 1.9gti 1990 - Kezzer30 - 26-02-2013 Ok so today i had a day off and decided i would make myself useful , i started by putting the rest of the white strips on and touching up the edges of the red trims due to a few small bits been missed. Then i decided i wanted to tidy the car up abit more now all the shuts need painting red but i decided i would make a start under bonnet to start with it looked like this . As u can see not very tidy just some over spray on edge of wing and the just dull dirty rusty white , so i decided i give it a clean Panel wiped it down moved a few wires and then got to work on the rust bubbles Abit of aggression later haha ( few other small bits i did) Then i noticed this little bit lurking down the edge i decided i could get to it so i took it down haha I then decided to take light out and see if i could get anything else Another wipe down and some more little bits found Some more agression later haha Gave it all another going over Decided to make a half decent job of it took off strut brace and sanded down the suspension area then cover up the engine bits Primered Coloured Laquered Only used cans as its not on show all time theres a few reactions ( which i expected) but it will help it look abit tidier , will get round to other side at some point RE: 205 1.9gti 1990 - Piggy - 26-02-2013 sweet!!! RE: 205 1.9gti 1990 - puglove - 26-02-2013 Looking at how piss poor the paint job is on the wing here. I.E leave the bonnet on and spray it rather than take it off mask up the bat and spray it properly and get the inner surfaces of the wings, PLEASSSSSSSEEE tell me your sprayed the door shuts & boot shuts on this???? 205 1.9gti 1990 - Kezzer30 - 26-02-2013 (26-02-2013, 08:35 PM)puglove Wrote: Looking at how piss poor the paint job is on the wing here. Well if you read the update you will have seen the answer is no , why u may ask , the spray job was free mate i didn't do it , it was taken to a business unit and done for nothing i could not expect the whole thing doing and thats the whole point of my update I'm tidying it up the bonnet wasn't taken off or anything and ive stated that Aswel so very sorry to disappoint but u dont get a showroom full spray job for free RE: 205 1.9gti 1990 - puglove - 26-02-2013 Ah i see , iv got you on FB and seen you spraying stuff left right and center in your garage, thought you were a sprayer or somthing 205 1.9gti 1990 - Kezzer30 - 26-02-2013 (26-02-2013, 08:47 PM)puglove Wrote: Ah i see , iv got you on FB and seen you spraying stuff left right and center in your garage, thought you were a sprayer or somthing Im getting there lad once again if u read my full blog you will see im getting the hang of it very keen an trust me once i. Gotta say fair play for spending the time and money to get the practice in. Id love to be able to spray.
