Finally hit 300k - DeeTurbo - 28-01-2013 Well I've finally done it and hit 300k miles in my car this afternoon. I use to do ridiculous amounts of miles a few years ago, sometimes up to 36k a year and I'm down to the national average of 12k a year now so it feels like it's take ages to hit this miles stone. RE: Finally hit 300k - Dan! - 28-01-2013 Looks bloody clean, been re-painted or just well looked after/lucky? RE: Finally hit 300k - Dum-Dum - 28-01-2013 That does look crazy clean for the mileage. Just another 8 years at 12k a year and yoll see 400k RE: Finally hit 300k - DeeTurbo - 28-01-2013 umm, It did have a bit of paint front and back in 2003 and then again in 2008 just a bit on the back there. RE: Finally hit 300k - Scott - 28-01-2013 Jesus, most of us would have had that scrapped about 5 times after seeing those photos! RE: Finally hit 300k - darrenjlobb - 28-01-2013 What a hero RE: Finally hit 300k - Luhoer - 28-01-2013 wow the first three pictures look really bad... RE: Finally hit 300k - Eeyore - 28-01-2013 epic! good to see that the 306 is capable of it! Ive heard people say it but never seen the proof! Well done for fixing it so many times and it looks mint! Finally hit 300k - RePT - 28-01-2013 Original engine? Awesome dude. At that kind of mileage you just want to hit the milestones. When my mileage was 97k i was trying to keep it as low as poss RE: Finally hit 300k - kingy - 28-01-2013 Makes my dent seem like a scratch. Top man for not scrapping it mate RE: Finally hit 300k - DeeTurbo - 28-01-2013 (28-01-2013, 08:18 PM)RePT Wrote: Original engine? Yeah, still original a part from the injectors, crank pully, power steering pump, water pump, the auxiliary idler and tensioner. It's also still on the original clutch, cv joints and wheel bearings. RE: Finally hit 300k - Scott - 28-01-2013 Still on the original clutch? That's insane! Amazing that it's needed so little really, those parts that have been replaced are all relatively minor and I know of much worse that's gone wrong with newer cars. RE: Finally hit 300k - DeeTurbo - 28-01-2013 There should be hardly any wear on a clutch if you use it right. I always use to have a go at my girlfriend for being on hers while being at the lights. RE: Finally hit 300k - Poodle - 28-01-2013 Awesome, good job that man! RE: Finally hit 300k - C2K - 28-01-2013 241 and a fresh ticket for me yesterday. I used to do 40k a year but go away a lot now so only done 7k each of the last two years. I replaced the clutch because it was slipping, but had stage 1 on for 50k. Still original in my engine bay except crank pulley, water pump is a consumable. Still on original lift pump too. Finally hit 300k - kentiiboii - 28-01-2013 Wow! High hopes for my hdi then . 103k and counting RE: Finally hit 300k - DeeTurbo - 28-01-2013 (28-01-2013, 08:54 PM)C2K Wrote: Still on original lift pump too. Wow, that's good going mine packed in at 140k. Have you ever taken yours out and cleaned the gauze or do you just use good quality fuel? RE: Finally hit 300k - ozonehostile - 28-01-2013 perfect example of how epic the xud really is RE: Finally hit 300k - darrenjlobb - 28-01-2013 (28-01-2013, 09:17 PM)ozonehostile Wrote: perfect example of how epic the xud really is Except its not a XUD? Hats off to you for dragging it back after the smash. As said, got more brawn that most... Tom says 306s are shit so this must be bollocks. Bet it was only doing about 4mpg and broke down every 3 days. RE: Finally hit 300k - Toms306 - 28-01-2013 Lol at the high milage NADs...there's nothing to break on a NAD! We went through this on his other thread niall, previious owners ruin 306s...mines had 7 and is a heap....his has 0 and is still going strong at twice the milage! Plus cars like to be used, not stuck in one place degradung for long periods of time. The smashes look bad though, is definitely have scrapped it after that! Gets from a-b and will eventually look good doing it plus hopefully wont be a NAD if I get a bonus on pay check in a few months RE: Finally hit 300k - C.A.R. - 29-01-2013 Peugeot should give you a medal for that achievement. There was that case where a manufacturer gave someone a new car after they covered a million miles, (VW?) but you wouldn't want a new Peugeot anyway! If someone offered you an RCZ you'd turn it down? |
