Turbo actuator - DeeTurbo - 23-01-2013 Hi, I was wondering if any people have had any problems or know of any problems with the actuator not letting the turbo boost properly? RE: Turbo actuator - Ricky - 23-01-2013 They can get weaker after years of use, and can creep under load as the exhaust gases overcome the spring force on the wastegate. RE: Turbo actuator - DeeTurbo - 24-01-2013 So I take it that will mean less boost as the pressure will leak through the wastegate? RE: Turbo actuator - MIKE-FORD - 25-01-2013 think mine is the same as can hear it some times and then i wont RE: Turbo actuator - Ricky - 25-01-2013 (24-01-2013, 10:21 PM)DeeTurbo Wrote: So I take it that will mean less boost as the pressure will leak through the wastegate? Yeah. RE: Turbo actuator - Poodle - 25-01-2013 Sort of, some of the exhaust gasses are allowed to bypass the turbine, so some of the energy that would be used to create boost is wasted. RE: Turbo actuator - MIKE-FORD - 26-01-2013 roll on the 2nd feb at ray west to see if we can find out whats up with mine RE: Turbo actuator - DeeTurbo - 26-01-2013 What are your symptoms? RE: Turbo actuator - MIKE-FORD - 27-01-2013 can only hear the turbo some times same as the actuator spowling, so one moment will be fine then it wont RE: Turbo actuator - DeeTurbo - 27-01-2013 When the car does this does it smoke because of the lack of boost? RE: Turbo actuator - MIKE-FORD - 27-01-2013 nope no smoke |
