Yeah will be better, only reason I was holding off, I was hoping some retro chrome ones would pop up...

The paint reacted for some reason though, don;t think it liked the primer. I'll see how they look tomorrow but looks like I'll have to redo them.

Nevaaar! Haha

RE: Project Babyliss - Matt - 17-02-2013

Just give them a flat back bit of a respray and try an keep the thumb prints out of it Wink

RE: Project Babyliss - Curt - 17-02-2013

The way it was looking I'll have to strip them back and start again. But shall see... Haha, I'll do my best Tongue

RE: Project Babyliss - Matt - 17-02-2013

When my door handles reacted I have them a flat then a couple of coats another flat a coat flat and lacquer and they didn't look bad

RE: Project Babyliss - Curt - 17-02-2013

This is very true mate, looked good. This is a different sort of reaction though unfortunately, goes cloudy sort of thing... Hard to explain. I'll have to see how they're looking tomorrow, will try some lacquer as have nothing to lose!

RE: Project Babyliss - Matt - 18-02-2013

Hmmm, was it warm where you were painting? Could be slight damp? Causing the reaction

RE: Project Babyliss - Curt - 19-02-2013

Don' t know what is was tbh mate, condition seemed okay and the prep was good. Think it may have been the primer.

Anyway, re-done:

Cheers man Smile haha yeah will be nice

RE: Project Babyliss - Matt - 19-02-2013

Need more pictures now Wink get going

RE: Project Babyliss - Curt - 19-02-2013

Haha, it's a bit dark... will hopefully have some of it fitted tomorrow if it's a nice day...

Also have to fit my rear bumper properly, it was held on with 8 bolts and 4 screws... now held on with 6 bolts lol. Got home today and the bumper had dropped somewhat. It's because I need to drill out the screws that hold the corners as I had to cut them off due to rust.

RE: Project Babyliss - Matt - 19-02-2013

Hahah son you mean you bodged a fit? Doesn't sound like you atall Tongue

RE: Project Babyliss - Curt - 19-02-2013

Yeah I know, very out of character isn't it...

RE: Project Babyliss - Matt - 19-02-2013

RE: Project Babyliss - Curt - 19-02-2013

RE: Project Babyliss - Matt - 19-02-2013

RE: Project Babyliss - Curt - 19-02-2013

RE: Project Babyliss - Matt - 20-02-2013

Yeahhhhhh man! Looking sick now Smile

RE: Project Babyliss - Curt - 20-02-2013

Cheers mate Smile does make a difference. Will probably be back off again tomorrow to spray the mount black as I forgot haha

RE: Project Babyliss - C.A.R. - 20-02-2013

I was about to point out that you haven't de-tango'd the indicators but then I remembered you have those TSIs to go on...

Looking better now though. On mine, the little plastic 'cups' under the mirrors would never sit right and didn't bloody clip in properly, so mine ended up getting double sided tape treatment!

RE: Project Babyliss - Curt - 20-02-2013

Yeah I do indeed, still got to wore them in and decide what I'm doing colour wise... thinking just matt black. Which reminds me, I need to order some bullet connectors so I can just swap them over come MOT time.

Haha, mine seem to be okay actually... although after they've been off and on again who know! This one keeps coming loose so it adjusts too easily (read: on its' own), but I have a rebuild kit from eBay for that too.

RE: Project Babyliss - Fozzy - 02-03-2013

Got the tsi's on yet?

RE: Project Babyliss - Curt - 02-03-2013

Nah not yet, need to figure out wiring them in yet! And whether or not I'm painting them

RE: Project Babyliss - Fozzy - 02-03-2013

This will help your decision.

Spray them

RE: Project Babyliss - Curt - 02-03-2013

Yeah I saw that actually, still not sure haha. I probably will do, not much to spray them black again...

She's a bit dirty

Oh and yes, my bumper is hanging off. It was held on with 8 bolts and 4 screws, now held on with 5 bolts... Damn rust
