meh, can get it refurbed if needs be, so it's still cheaper..

Maybe not as well as I should, I had no brake cleaner so used fine wire wool..

RE: My stage 2 HDi Estate - Toms306 - 04-01-2013

Wait, so you got a new clutch and instantly ragged it? Even I know you have to bed them in lol, even if they are second hand.

More than likely be fine after a bit of grannying. Big Grin

No one mentioned ragging.. I'm talking like 1/4 throttle and it slips.

RE: My stage 2 HDi Estate - cwspellowe - 04-01-2013

Maybe cut your wooden pedal extensions down to allow the pedal to return fully? Wink

RE: My stage 2 HDi Estate - Ricky - 04-01-2013

TBH I didn't clean my flywheel haha, mines fine. You probably have a huge amount more torque than me though, so i think you just need to be careful for a while.

Well that sounds like grannying already then lol. Confused

I know there's a huge torque difference but on rowells estate the flywheel was rusty and we didn't clean it up at all, took a week or so to bed it in and was fine. So hopefully yours will be as well.

That's what I'm hoping for!

So this evening I started fitting my new snail!

Didn't get too far, just dropped the subframe off and undid the exhaust manifold. But I'm getting quite excited now, next time I drive it, it'll have a bigger turbo!!!! Big Grin

Spent most of the day clearing out the garage so I could do this :

RE: My stage 2 HDi Estate-GT2052 in the works! - cwspellowe - 06-01-2013

Yeah wasn't exactly labour intensive by the looks of things lmao

Yah whatever mate, You should try taking an inlet manifold of an HDi, gotta take the exhaust mani off first, and that means turbo off and that means subframe off.. What a pain in the bollocks.

RE: My stage 2 HDi Estate-GT2052 in the works! - cwspellowe - 06-01-2013

Er, the only difference with an XUD is you don't have to drop the subframe on the superior motor?

RE: My stage 2 HDi Estate-GT2052 in the works! - Jonny81191 - 06-01-2013

Hmmm.. Superior? We shall see.

RE: My stage 2 HDi Estate-GT2052 in the works! - cwspellowe - 06-01-2013

lol

We'll play this game when I go 11mm. Which shall be a while. I'd like to make use of the blower first, this one's not cheap ninja

RE: My stage 2 HDi Estate-GT2052 in the works! - Just Sean - 06-01-2013

My helix paddle has worked straight up no problems. I'm still on stage 1 though...

RE: My stage 2 HDi Estate-GT2052 in the works! - Ruan - 06-01-2013

Whys the turbo got to come off before the inlet can out of interest?!

RE: My stage 2 HDi Estate-GT2052 in the works! - Jonny81191 - 06-01-2013

Because the exhaust mani is in the way of the lower studs, so that has to come off. And I can't wind the studs out to drop the exhaust mani off because the turbo's in the way. PITA.

RE: My stage 2 HDi Estate-GT2052 in the works! - Ruan - 06-01-2013

Gayness, well, man up Wink

RE: My stage 2 HDi Estate-GT2052 in the works! - Ruan - 07-01-2013

Exhaust points to the bulkhead, no?

Also liking the new upside down oil feed system, it defies gravity :p

Nah it sits low enough that I can just stick a bend on and it'll go down the tunnel no problems..

And it's just a test fit, haven't clocked it yet. But well done for noticing, have a biscuit lol

RE: My stage 2 HDi Estate-GT2052 in the works! - cwspellowe - 07-01-2013

That's pretty much ready to go then Johnny, good work. Don't worry about the exhaust not fitting properly. De-exhaust ftw. Bulkhead is metal so can handle the heat.

On another note, is that a wide angle lens? Or are you that short that it just appears wide angle?

RE: My stage 2 HDi Estate-GT2052 in the works! - Jonny81191 - 07-01-2013

Meh, De exhaust in a tunnel is FTMFW!!!!!

And F*ck you, you ain't all that lanky Heart
