Will get pics in the morn Frosty's S16 6 speed - Frosty - 22-02-2013 Ok no worries mate Frosty's S16 6 speed - Frosty - 23-02-2013 Here some pics of the way I got the pipes around. Not very clear pics though Also today I had a look at my door looms and the drivers 1 had some untidy wires and 1 broken 1 so I repaired the broken 1 and tidied up the other 1s the best I could. Didn't get any pics though. Also in the connections they had that horrible green corrosion I cleaned it up best I could with some electrical cleaner spray and some grit paper. Anyone know how to clean it up best and stop it coming back? I fort that I had sort the central locking but it played up again but was the passenger side this time though the wires were all ok on that side so I duno why when I wiggle it it locked ok. Poss the connection? Managed to pop the gear linkages on as well And fitted It does feel a lot nicer changing gear now. It use to not go into 3rd that well but now it goes in fine. Glad I decided to fit them. So all in all I had a few successful hours at work this morning RE: Frosty's S16 6 speed - ozonehostile - 23-02-2013 what car you bringing to weston? RE: Frosty's S16 6 speed - ozonehostile - 23-02-2013 yeah i will be, i havnt taken it out since ray wests lol. RE: Frosty's S16 6 speed - Frosty - 23-02-2013 Been a while then. I look forward to seeing it again RE: Frosty's S16 6 speed - ozonehostile - 23-02-2013 Yeah, give it a good clear out ready for service and new parts Frosty's S16 6 speed - Frosty - 24-02-2013 A quick polish and clean before the Weston meet later. RE: Frosty's S16 6 speed - Piggy - 24-02-2013 looking good... for the corrosion on the plugs/electrical connections there is a spray you can buy...mine is a wurth can, comes out blue... spray it on...job done Frosty's S16 6 speed - Frosty - 24-02-2013 Ok cheers bud. I will try and get hold of something like that RE: Frosty's S16 6 speed - ozonehostile - 25-02-2013 Enjoyed the occasional bwarp driving behind you yesterday dude Frosty's S16 6 speed - Frosty - 25-02-2013 Haha. It is pretty loud the exhaust but I love it Frosty's S16 6 speed - Frosty - 16-03-2013 Got my central locking playing up at the moment and need to get motivated to sort it but I'm not 100% sure what is causing my problem. Think it's poss the passenger side door connection as its still got the green corrosion which I will try and clear off and see if that fixes it. Re: Frosty's S16 6 speed - rocker8742 - 16-03-2013 Can't be as bad as mine lol really need to strip the drivers loom Frosty's S16 6 speed - Frosty - 16-03-2013 Haha yours is crazy Re: Frosty's S16 6 speed - rocker8742 - 16-03-2013 Deadlocked the other day with me in it lol was interesting RE: Frosty's S16 6 speed - Frosty - 10-04-2013 Havent updated this for a while. Well my cenertal locking kept planing up so i ended up take the passenger door lock out and cleaning it and (touch wood) its been ok since. I popped some new rubber on 2 wheels yesterday but i just brought the cheapest i could get as a bit short on money at the moment so £62 for a pair of tyres aint to bad and i fitted them at work so that doesnt cost me anything I also put a KnN air filter on today as the other S16 i brought had 1 on so seemed a shame to not pop it on Heres a pic of the engine with a sexy rocker cover that i will hopefully be doing a bit of head work on and then putting it into my S16 Also after a bit of help. I find it hard to get it into gear when its cold and it sometimes seem to wine a bit and it alway wines in reverse. I have check the oil level in the gearbox and thats fine and it was new oil when i put the gearbox in about 10000 miles ago. It goes into gear fine when its warmed up. Anyone got any ideas? Are they all like this? I dont have much experience with the 6 speed boxes RE: Frosty's S16 6 speed - sweeney1987 - 11-04-2013 Did you use the proper pug recommended total oil? read before about people having problems with anything but... RE: Frosty's S16 6 speed - Piggy - 11-04-2013 imo you want some twin optics with the yellow lense....like I have in my box of parts!! I thought the S16 came with the yellow dipped lense as standard?! RE: Frosty's S16 6 speed - Rom4ik06 - 11-04-2013 Looks great! RE: Frosty's S16 6 speed - Frosty - 12-04-2013 (11-04-2013, 01:23 AM)sweeney1987 Wrote: Did you use the proper pug recommended total oil? I didnt use total oil but would the make of oil really make a difference as long as it was the right grade? Seemingly so, especially engaging gear when cold like you said. May be right grade but other additives make a difference Frosty's S16 6 speed - Frosty - 12-04-2013 Ah right might have to give that a go sometime RE: Frosty's S16 6 speed - Frosty - 16-04-2013 Had my idle control valve playing up again over the weekend. All the breather pipes keep getting the moya crap in them and there was some water in the pipes as well which i dont know how that got into the pipes. I think i will have to look into getting a catch tank fitted but hopefully the weather will warm up and it wont be so bad. Anyway i cleaned the pipes out again and the idle control valve so its all ok at the moment. I also been thinking about the blue carpet i got in the sigma S16 im breaking and was wondering if i should fit it to this. I cant decide if it would look good or not. Any forts? |
