cheaper insurance increased speed limit  and the fact it no longer says Panel van on the V5 Wink

the weather has been horrible here of late not been able to cut ply outside in the rain
but this morning i managed to finish boarding the roof Smile
it now looks as if i need to soon get some coverings on it, so time to think of colours Hmmm!

oh! yes there is suppose to be a 15mm gap at the edges , there will be RGB led tape lighting in there eventually Wink

RE: Vivaro camper Van conversion - madmadmax - 02-03-2017

RE: Vivaro camper Van conversion - cully - 03-03-2017

also ticks a few box's on the DVLA requirments for campervan Wink

RE: Vivaro camper Van conversion - cully - 10-03-2017

started to carpet some of the larger side panels
the carpet I am using is 4 way stretch Antracite and sticking it with high temp adhesive

be warned this stuf has a pile so it looks different colours if reversed

now for the tedious part sticking the rest to the visable joints in the van where the panels fit

Massively impressive to be fair. Adding much weight?

I have very similar plans for the back of my 205 van! Just sound insulation/deadning and acoustic carpet.

Thanks for the comments Smile

yes its adding weight but probably not as much as the racking and bulkhead i removed at the moment

i will put it on the weigh bridge when done so i have a base weight for refrence

RE: Vivaro camper Van conversion - cully - 13-03-2017

got on real well today maybe due to my extra helper!

finished the carpeting less side and rear doors
then found out my self tapping screws were to short to fix the panels back
didn't allow for 2/3/4 layers of carpet Doh!

fitted the roof fan for air circulation

trip to the big smoke tomorrow to get some screws and electrical fixtures

there will be usb outlets on the kitchen side of the van Wink

RE: Vivaro camper Van conversion - cully - 16-03-2017

after much kitchen shopping, only to find out B&Q and wicks kitchen units are too tall and not deep enough,
I have come back to the Ikea kitchen range
which gives me the sizes i need in the depth needed
so I have now bought my kitchen less the worktop

after much mocking up and measuring

the shopping list

RE: Vivaro camper Van conversion - Eeyore - 19-03-2017

Looks really good Big Grin slightly jealous.

RE: Vivaro camper Van conversion - tigerstyle - 19-03-2017

Lot of cabinets for a van? Looks like a whole house worth!

RE: Vivaro camper Van conversion - allye - 19-03-2017

Bloody good job, I'd have one of these over a transporter any day of the week, although with the 2.0.

Good drive and really spacious cabin, my knees are on the dash of a T5 with the seat all the way back!

RE: Vivaro camper Van conversion - cully - 20-03-2017

Hmmmm...... dont blame me the wife picked the roof fabric colours

RE: Vivaro camper Van conversion - cully - 21-03-2017

LOL at the comments Smile

If anyone is interested i seem to be getting around 35MPG out the van on short trips and to work and back

RE: Vivaro camper Van conversion - cully - 22-03-2017

running out of things to do until the kitchen units turn up tomorrow
so have fitted a volt meter on the van side so charging can be monitored
have also swapped the cigarette lighter to the passenger side and fitted a USB outlet to the drivers side

while i was in behind the dash i removed a load of extra wiring and control box which i believe to be part of a tracker system from when the van belonged to wales and west

RE: Vivaro camper Van conversion - allye - 22-03-2017

Nice little mods those volt meters and usb chargers. I put one of those USB chargers in the centre console of the 306, really handy and much nicer than a cig lighter converter thing.

Not sure on the headlining! Think it'll keep you up at night.

So, minus the cost of the van how much is it going to be for the internal gear?
