Think just too much heat/too little support RE: That darn knock...VIDEO - Rippthrough - 08-06-2016 Looks like it started from the HAZ on the ropey weld nearby. RE: That darn knock...VIDEO - Piggy - 13-06-2016 Right...ropey crack fixed with more ropey weld. Need a real welder...and some skill... Nevertheless... Still got a seperate suspension clonk n crunk... Proper bugging me RE: That darn knock...VIDEO - pug306driver - 14-06-2016 new video so we can see/hear? Seemed fine on route. All makes sense as now found. Me and ruan wouldnt give up once I could jack it up in a certain position to make it knock by giving ghe wheel a.jerk in a certain way. Turns out dry front nearside wishbone bush bolt essentially. Managed to get a 1/4 turn on it...but was SO creaky. Wound out, cleaned up and greased up...wound in tight. Now no creaks, crunches or clunks!! woopwoop RE: That darn knock...VIDEO - tigerstyle - 10-08-2016 Got a photo showing the suspect bolts? Perhaps all of our 306s could do with tlc to those bolts? Presume not touched since factory? RE: That darn knock...VIDEO - Piggy - 11-08-2016 (10-08-2016, 10:24 PM)tigerstyle Wrote: Got a photo showing the suspect bolts? Long one with 18mm head RE: That darn knock...VIDEO - carlukepeugeot - 11-08-2016 Interesting. So what - you just tightened it up essentially? (once you could that is) As said above, is this something we should al look at? Trying to understand what has happened here. Wound it out and it creaked all the way. Cleaned and greased and all is loverly jubberly RE: That darn knock...VIDEO - Connor - 11-08-2016 Maybe the captive nut inside the sub frame has come away from its weld as well? His is a phase 3 so the subframe nuts are not spot welded theyre just captive. Meaning they can rattle if a little loose. Bad design choice for the newer ones. |
