thanks guys for getting back two me  i got load off them from ebay and thay say it will only work after 2001 not 2000 ?

RE: OBD2 blutooth scanner?? - Martin306 - 01-05-2018

You need diagbox and a lexia cable to read 1.4 ECU's from what I can remember. or PP2K if you're a bit old Tongue

The functions you can read with these adapters are pretty limited anyway and are of no use for complex running issues because they're simply not fast enough and they can't read manufacturer specific data unless you get an app which recognises all of the manufacturer specific ones - which Torque doesn't for example.

the vendor I bought mine from wasn't able to confirm 100% it would work on my car. But it did work.
Most simple code readers will only identify fault codes (generic) and reset the engine light.

so dont this read live date as i need to read the car coolant temperature sensor live as i want to know if the car is over heating or the temp temperature gauge playing up ?

Wiki says EOBD (Euro equivalent of OBD II) wasn't mandatory for any vehicle until 2001. THE USA made it mandatory earlier, hence it's easy to think Euro vehicles were also compliant earlier. I'm still fairly sure Dazza would need Lexia / PP2000.

true. Eobd did start to filter in b4 the mandatory date tho', as my Y2K HDi has it.
PP2000 will still be the better option here.

What ECU is in it? I've been using an app called FAP with an ELM327 bluetooth dongle, it's very good with detailed logging etc... that's on a 51 HDI. Here is a list of supported ECUs.

- Supported INJ ECUs: EDC15C2, EDC17C10, EDC17C10_BR2, DCM3.5, DCM3.5_BR2, HDI_SID803, EDC16CP39, DCM3.4, HDI_SID807_BR2, MED17.4.2, MM6LPB, MEV17.4_EURO4, DCM3.4P, HDI_SID807, MEV17.4_EURO5, MEV17.4.2, ME745, MED17_4_EURO5, SID201, DCM35_HY, J34P, MM6LP, ME749, MM6KP, EDC17CP42, EDC17CP11, MED17_4_EURO4, V46, DCM6.2, ME747, DCN2, V34.1, V46.21, EDC17C60, MED17.4.4, S2000PM2, MEVD17.4.4
- Supported gearbox ECUS: CFC300P, CFC300P_HY, AM6/AT6, AL6.

I would like to think so Dazza. you'll probs have to remove the cover to see the label.
ECU is by the battery in most if not all models

laser thermometer? getting quite cheap now. Screwfix do a few.

RE: OBD2 blutooth scanner?? - Toms306 - 02-05-2018

It's a Sagem ECU in the 1.4s, SL92 iirc? Wasn't supported by any of the cheap readers when I owned one, but that was a while ago admittedly.

RE: OBD2 blutooth scanner?? - Magenta Sunset - 02-05-2018

how about getting an aftermarket temp kit & sender, and rigging it up in the cooling system as a comparison?

RE: OBD2 blutooth scanner?? - dazza1223 - 02-05-2018

yh i did think off that but how wood it stay in there when im driveing as the rad cap need to be on

unscrew the existing sensor and swap. run a temporary feed through the door shut, and connect gauge using cig socket for power. you can tape the gauge to the dash whilst doing your tests.

(my pod setup is still wired that way at present. see FB post)

RE: OBD2 blutooth scanner?? - dazza1223 - 02-05-2018

cool thank u so wood that bit fit in the thermostat housing off mine?

RE: OBD2 blutooth scanner?? - Magenta Sunset - 02-05-2018

best I could recommend, is to measure the size (diameter) of your existing one, then message the seller for him to measure his item.
I believe, these things are in common sizes.

RE: OBD2 blutooth scanner?? - dazza1223 - 03-05-2018

RE: OBD2 blutooth scanner?? - dazza1223 - 08-05-2018

hi guys mate off mine lent me his laptop with the diagnostic sofware on the i look at one off the sofware and it peugeot 306 w reg 2000

so if i just buy a usb data cable from ebay do you guy think it will work

RE: OBD2 blutooth scanner?? - Mighty306 - 09-05-2018

Assuming he's lent you a laptop installed with Diagbox/PP2000 then you'd need the Lexia 3 cable. Nothing else will work on your model (other than some very expensive diagnostic equipment garages might use).

RE: OBD2 blutooth scanner?? - dazza1223 - 09-05-2018

yep that right i got that Diagbox/PP2000 and i think i have to bye Lexia 3 cable lead
