Anyone have any ideas? Its got me kinda worried now haha. Someone said it could be a cracked cylinder head leaking up the glow plug hole :/

RE: Changing Glow Plugs? - DeeTurbo - 01-02-2015

If it was leaking up the glow plug it would be black. I wouldn't worry about it. Does it start and idle a bit better now when cold?

RE: Changing Glow Plugs? - JTaylor2005 - 01-02-2015

Seemed too a little. It has quite a habbit of being very diesel knocky this car. Whether its because its been a city car all its life and just got sooted up tonnes I have no idea haha

Definitly less smoke on start up

Diesel knock you say that is a bit strange, could you do a video?

Just had another look at those plugs and I would say 2 and 4 had stopped working.

Here it is. Sorry if it looks funny. No idea what happened there

Diesels all knock... That sounds perfectly fine to me. Smile

That white soot is often on injectors as well, wouldn't worry about it tbh. Its just ash...like the stuff DPFs are full of. Dodgy

nice pics....the threads are a long way back and the seal is a taper......element is not like a kettle ( exposed element like the old days, a spiral or similar ) but a solid bit.......thanks for the info.
