Really is overkill if not, mine is a stage 3 paddle and hasnt slipped yet with 280lbft

Its just CG's branding on the clutch.
Its a 'stage 3 5 paddle clutch' but the car still runs stage 2 power

Haha key word forgotten there.
I think CG do state it offers a good grip with slightly better town driveability etc over the paddle, so I suppose it could be worth the extra £ for some.

The only reason I went for dual friction was because its a daily car and I bloody hate paddle clutches with a passion horrible to drive with. The dual friction is an easy driving clutch but will also withhold the power. Im only going stage 2 my self but at least it will last I hope and still be normal to drive. So basically exactly what mcglynn says get all benefits of paddle but not the track style clutch for daily driving. Thats what made me go for it as well as a cheaper price

I've paid 265 delivered for it. Says it's 40% power increase same as the paddle clutch. It's a 5 paddle one side and a kevlar the other I think. Also with grooved preasure plate.

After my clutch started slipping today im wondering if a 306 hdi upgrade will fit my 307 hdi? Im tempted by cg atm myself

It says it haddles the same as stage 3 paddle clutch. Just drives like a normal organic clutch which is exactly what i wanted. no doesn't come with flywheel mate just thrust bearing preasure plate and of course the clutch. All looks really good to be fair ill try get some pictures up tomorrow and im fitting it next Saturday bit busy this weekend.

Ah this must be a pretty new development, nice enough price too.
When I was ordering them the only dual friction one they offered camed with a custom flywheel. Ive found the paddle isnt too bad, I plan on putting on a new cable too to lighten it up a tad (no heavier than before though)

Yeh thats the one. Didn't have it listed on the website for a 306 so I gave them a ring really helpful got them on the shelf just not updated there website and I thought it was a good set up for the money as I didn't want to pay helix prices lol. Fingers crossed its all okay guys.

If it's only guaranteed for "40% power increase" then that means they'll only guarantee it to around 130-5hp which is only a little over stage 1 :/

But thats all they rate the stage 3 paddle clutch so pretty poor but im sure its just to cover them selfs as it's there company reputation on the line.

Yeah deffo not an arguement, im interested to see if it holds out & for how long. Its a cheaper option than the paddle too which suits a lot more people.

See, it's stuff like this that continues to put me off CG - what they tell you about their products seems to vary depending on who you talk to, how you contact them, what the weather's doing or what phase the moon is in.

Yeah true, the prices are the same story. I spoke to andy via email if thats any help?
He said the paddle will happily do 300lb but they wouldnt rate it at any more to cover themselves afaik.
Hedid state that the twin plate & custom flywheel option (~£500) would do 450lbft. Bit overkill but nice to know theres something beefy out there I suppose.
I guess my thinking was that a standard pressure plate and Valeo/LuK friction would do 270 - 280 lbft for a year or so, proven.. so an uprated pressure plate would be suffice for my 300lb goal

The pressure plate/springs definately did look well made & was beefier than the LuK that came out of the car albeit it was probably 140k old.

Yeh I spoke to andy as well seems a nice enough chap. Trouble is people there are learning all the time as a company from customers feed back. So they can only rate there stuff to what they know and be safe with. Like said before if they rated them at like 500lbs for example and it slips at 300lbs you are going to be straight on the phone so they are only covering them selfs. But I will post a couple of pics tomorrow so impressed with it looks amazing.

What's wrong the daily drive? This "judder" everyone on this forum seems to be complaining about is merely a tiny judder, but you only really feel a slight judder if you have a solid rear engine mount? Still, it's totally driveable
