RE: Favourite Roads? - Danny2009 - 21-11-2013 Any road without pot holes or speed bumps is my idea of a perfect road RE: Favourite Roads? - Pompey306mark - 21-11-2013 I did it last weekend in my little runabout. Much better in a lowered, tuned better handling a car. RE: Favourite Roads? - Jonny81191 - 21-11-2013 Ruan will agree with me on this one, the A686 from Penrith to Haydon Bridge via Alston. ![]() RE: Favourite Roads? - procta - 21-11-2013 the rover hates potholes, with the suspension been that stiff and raw, it really shakes you about. I was staying at Mallory park and I couldn't get the chance to let the car have a run, as the roads where we were staying were potholed to f*ck. And with the recent weather, people that think 'light rain' means 29mph and brake hard for every corner. ![]() Fuel prices and other people ruin driving tbh, haven't 'just' been for a drive for a long while because of that! RE: Favourite Roads? - Jonny81191 - 21-11-2013 Also the N85 in France, we drove it en-route to Monaco earlier this year in a convoy of 4 306's. Oh. My. Yep, another great one. Cumbria is full of great roads ![]() RE: Favourite Roads? - Ruan - 21-11-2013 That road turned the brakes on my Volvo blue. D: How that road hasn't been banned yet, I don't know. Not too far from me actually, Hartside Pass being one of the best parts of that route! RE: Favourite Roads? - Nath140889 - 08-01-2014 From penistone down mortimer road to sheffield, then snake pass down into glossop and up to woodheadpass back down into barnsley RE: Favourite Roads? - THE_Liam - 08-01-2014 Love the snake but always covered by camera vans ![]() RE: Favourite Roads? - Martin306 - 08-01-2014 A83 - Rest and be thankful A821 between A84 and Aberfoyle aka Dukes Pass A827 (that runs to the North of Loch Tay) Road from Loch Lyon, to GlenLyon post office, then South past Ben Lawers to the A827. Lastly, A93 Bridge of Cally to Braemar as my favourite. RE: Favourite Roads? - John1.4 - 08-01-2014 loved the woodhead back in the day on my way to wrexham for the Demon Tweeks meet, but i think my fave now is the A9 from thurso - perth, inbetween thurso and inverness it's a lot of twisty stuff right on cliffs / down by the water, hairpins etc, lot of elevation change, after that the scenery just gets better through the highlands down towards perth... a LOT of mileage in that trip, but deffo one i'll be doing again ![]() RE: Favourite Roads? - martyn92 - 08-01-2014 (21-11-2013, 08:26 PM)Jonny81191 Wrote: Also the N85 in France, we drove it en-route to Monaco earlier this year in a convoy of 4 306's. So many epic roads over there! Also love the run out of the gorge and do enjoy the road between the a38 and Taunton quite a bit Re: RE: Favourite Roads? - kentiiboii - 09-01-2014 (21-11-2013, 03:12 PM)hucky Wrote: i have a few local fun ones. snakes pass, woodhead is ok. cat and fiddle always fun but from altrincham to warrington, quite flat but some very nice corners to play with These are the only 2 I know. Snakes pass and cat and fiddle. But cat and fiddle when I went down it was foggy as hell as it was 3-4am coming from Manchester airport. RE: Favourite Roads? - Nath140889 - 09-01-2014 Yeah the camera vans are a pain but tend to do the whole run at night after midnight, get some epic fog driving from penistone to sheffield then some at the very top of snake pass usually good run at that time when the roads are dead , gonna be a fun attempt in the snow but will be followed by a landy haha RE: Favourite Roads? - ozonehostile - 09-01-2014 Here's a couple of shots of why Epynt (think I mentioned it on the first page) is so Damn epic! [attachment=12595] [attachment=12596] If you ever get the chance to go there for a hoon, do so RE: Favourite Roads? - procta - 09-01-2014 if I did that with the rover, the hydrocans will just explode!! RE: Favourite Roads? - budd - 10-01-2014 as mentioned the Buttertubbs pass is awesome as is the road from the Ribble viaduct to Hawes plenty of opportunity to dice with the bikes ![]() both the above are great and I'm sure all those mentioned in previous posts have something to recommend them but my absolute fav is the Mountain section of the TT course on the Isle of Man, approx 9 miles from Ramsey to Douglas well surfaced (it as to be it's part of the race track) well sighted (mostly), good mix of medium fast, fast and OMG fast, and best of all no speed limits, motoring nirvana ![]() RE: Favourite Roads? - THE_Liam - 11-01-2014 In search of the northern lights last night I ended up having a good thrash up the coast road from Scarborough to Saltburn last night, sat on the seafront at Saltburn watching the aurora, great night and an epic hoon ![]() RE: Favourite Roads? - lolsteve - 11-01-2014 Wait what?!
