And Piggy, the stuff in the 99p shop is the EXACT same stuff that you get from Costco-i.e. KTC oil.

But yeah, I asked the local chippy, says someone already pays him to take it away from him. If you can get it free you are either very lucky or "in the know".

Don't forget you have to pay VAT at Costco and Bookers if you are not a business member as well. Total rip off.

Pretty sure there's not vat on Veg Oil iirc

correctamundo!

RE: Veg Offers October 2013 - silverzx - 09-10-2013

So that works out at more or less £1 a litre still after VAT?

Anyone can get a Costco card more or less, just make up a business name and get some cards printed. Also, veg oil is VAT free, so if it says £16.79 that's what you pay. It's not a rip off at all, just got 40 litres of oil and a 24 pack of Emerge energy drink for £38.22, compare that to Asda Wink

EFA . . Smile

RE: Veg Offers October 2013 - Anton - 09-10-2013

Bookers is VAT free so £17.49 for 20 litres.

Puggy PM me your address and i'll post a spare card of mine to you.

RE: Veg Offers October 2013 - r3k1355 - 11-10-2013

Bookers have bought out Makro fairly recently, I've heard they're going fully trade-only and will be very strict on rules - so no easy cards from them like with Costco.

I dunno what they'll do with their current customers, they'd be mad to make them all re-apply.

Re: Veg Offers October 2013 - THE_Liam - 18-10-2013

RE: Veg Offers October 2013 - pugvivant - 19-10-2013

Soya stitched on?? I thougt it was made from rapeseed??

Re: Veg Offers October 2013 - THE_Liam - 19-10-2013

Its definitely soya, but my DT doesn't mind it as long as theres a couple of litres of diesel in with it! And Sam, if you let me know when you can, I work right next to it and finish at 6 so if you meet me there you can stock up on my card.

Well it's got down to 5 degrees here and it's started first turn of the key every time, it hunts for the first 5 minutes but it did that all summer...

When I first used it, it didn't want to rev past 3k but with a couple of litres of diesel it's no different to rapeseed Wink

Cant beat a full tank for 48 quid Smile

RE: Veg Offers October 2013 - Paul_13 - 19-10-2013

Whoops ;p

RE: Veg Offers October 2013 - r3k1355 - 19-10-2013

Soya oil is fine, I've been using it for years.
Everything will gel up eventually in the winter, just run a decent winter mix and you'll be fine.

oh and Liam, leave some of that Costco oil for the rest of us!!
The Leeds Costco is my watering hole as well.

Went like a rocket on mine. 15l went in the tank.

Wouldn't be saying that on a public forum mate, it's illegal iirc...

RE: Veg Offers October 2013 - r3k1355 - 19-10-2013

Yep it's illegal, and the teeny tiny bits of metal in it that you didn't manage to filter out will f*ck the inside of your pump and injectors.

RE: Veg Offers October 2013 - 306Puggy - 20-10-2013

Went to Tesco on Friday, hoping to get a butt load of veg to mix with my petrol, only to find that they've sold out againAngry Is my area the only one where it is hard to get hold of veg!?

RE: Veg Offers October 2013 - r3k1355 - 20-10-2013

Supermarkets always are hit and miss, especially when it's on offer.
They tend to get a load and sell it, and thats it until the next offer.

Cash & Carry for a reliable source, or bio, or make it yourself.

Re: Veg Offers October 2013 - THE_Liam - 20-10-2013

That's exactly why I get it from Costco, huge pallets full of it and if they don't have it out they get it for you. Had a row with a manager in Asda once because he tried to stop me buying 100 litres of C&D because apparently it wasn't fair to other customers...
