A lot more than that! I'm not as old as you though lol.

Vectra is £450 for the year.

HDi for this year was £600 no mods, £650ish mods decalred.

If I could afford a new 12 plate Swift like my Mums I'd only pay ~£300 for that!

So for an extra £500 she can have an '05 plate car, which will easily last her a year, safe, reliable enough, VERY cheap to run (easily make that £500 back, tax is £30, does 65+mpg etc) and has a modern car that hopefully she'd like. And she'd even get boost. Tongue

Not being funny Kent but I'm not sure an S16 is gonna be cheap to run for you guys....

Yeah but its a extra £500 she dont want to spend. And a s16 wouldnt be much to run for us anyway. I only use my car to work and back which is 10 minute walk up road. Im just to lazy to walk up the hill.

So thats £220 a year in tax. ~£600 a year in insurance. And then short drives on a cold engine!? Confused Walk up the hill lol, bit of excersize doesn't hurt anyone! Big Grin

My misses is doing her driving at the moment all we looking at is insurance prices
And the cars with lower groups, but we spending about 500 maybe bit more but keep finding
Some good cars round my area, 106s ect just trying to get the bargain before someone else is the problem.
But that clio sounds well dodgy and from a garage, seem to find that they the worse places to buy from.

Know which battles to fight mate, make an appearance of fighting this one, but not too hard mind. Then when it goes wrong she'll just need a gentle reminder of what happened last time she let her parents decide something important for her...

This is how my mother-in-law now has zero control over anything we do, works for me hahaha!

We got my girlfriends old 1.1 106 for 350 tax and test for 8 months needing a new axle.£50 job done. Then when that got wrote off got a 1.0 saxo for 250 with 6months mot and tax. Sent 40 on a cat for mot and its done 8k miles since November and the o.ly problems been I keep leaving the lights on. Just got a 1.8 205 from the other forum mot'd till Aug for 350 no problems (until I started messing lol) cheap cars are everywhere people practically giving them away

Luckily she knows what she likes and ignores her dads car advice and listens to me. They tryd getting her to have a micro. f*ck that even she outright refuses lol
