now thats intersting. theres was alot of pressure when i took the cap off, but not from exhasut gasses. usually you can open the cap on a dturbo at any temperature and youl be fine, but just now it exploded out a little bit after been stood still for a week

Isn't it more about the year the rods where made rather than the design?

That ive never heard so cant comment but seeing as both parts share the same part number, i would assume they are exactly the same. Even a change in manufacturing would mean a superseded part so a new part number.

Yeah Ozone, mine did the same. Was letting pressure out slowly from the overflow but when i took the cap off, was a lot of pressure. I ran it for about half hour like that and its been fine since lol

RE: White phase 1, now with added truck turbo and massive head gasket failure - Dave - 28-03-2013

They share the same part number, but my verniers and scales say otherwise to them being exactly the same! Wink

yeah the xud rods look diddy when put next to the hdi ones....there was a pic around of them side by side somewhere kn here

and RE: headgasket, mine went in exactly the same way matey...and yes pressure still in system couple days later

balls, il change the rad 2moz anyway just see whats happenening then proceed to do the headgasket as planned if it doesnt help

RE: White phase 1, now with added truck turbo and massive head gasket failure - Pompey306mark - 28-03-2013

Sounds like my head gasket issues, if I bleed mine up its fine, but as soon as I turn the engine off then head out again the temps go up to 90 plus cold blowers but then temp drops down, heaters get warm then it's fine no over heating or anything.

RE: White phase 1, now with added truck turbo and massive head gasket failure - ozonehostile - 28-03-2013

il fill the rad up and go for a drive with the cap off see if its still the same

Haha, well peugeot have some issues with there part numbers then, because trust me, HDI rods have alot more meat in them!!

Hahaha that's where trusting peugeot's info gets you, got your head up your arse and your foot in your mouth all in one go there Niall! Come round mine later, i have some uses for that kind of flexibility. Wink

Fingers crossed for your head dude, not sure what your chances are though if i'm honest. :S

RE: White phase 1, now with added truck turbo and massive head gasket failure - darrenjlobb - 29-03-2013

They most likely have the same part number because they dont make XUD ones anymore as its simpler to just make one kind, given it fits both then.

RE: White phase 1, now with added truck turbo and massive head gasket failure - Niall - 29-03-2013

In which case peugeot are even more useless than i thought lol

RE: White phase 1, now with added truck turbo and massive head gasket failure - ozonehostile - 03-04-2013

All the service parts I ordered have finally turned up after the bank holiday delays, just need the headgasket itself and i'm all set to go Smile

RE: White phase 1, now with added truck turbo and massive head gasket failure - 306Brad - 04-04-2013

This looks mean!

RE: White phase 1, now with added truck turbo and massive head gasket failure - ozonehostile - 06-04-2013

Started it up and left it running for a bit today to see what was going on, om certain its the headgasket thats gone aswel as a busted radiator, water pissing out of 4 seperate places on the rad itself and its blowing bubbles in the coolant.

ive got everything i need to do the change now, ordered a victor reinz gasket today so soon as that turns up the work can begin Smile

Hmm, gloss black wheels turn matt black, but don't look as grubby as dirty white wheels!
